Crikey, I didnt realise that this was going to be so difficult! Guess I'll just have to persevere with pulling the damn things out when they sprout!hmm, think i'll just stick to digging out the bindweed then............
Honestly, glyphosate works really well. You just need to be persistent.
If you dig the roots up but leave any small bits of root in the ground, each bit will become a new plant. Digging is only useful if you can clear and dig a whole patch at a time and keep it clear until every bit of root has sprouted and been removed.0 -
Last year I made Sloe Gin for Xmas prezzies, I didn't want to pay £££s for nice bottles so had a look around and found Asda did nice bottles with white wine vinegar in at about 50p each. Didn't want to throw all the white wine vinegar away so since then I have had about 8 wine bottles full of the stuff!!
Think its now time to get rind and wondered if anyone had any ideas as to what I could use it for (hoping for a way I could use it to create an xmas gift)Recently married and loving it x0 -

Or you could make chutney/salsa/vinaigrette using the vinegar and save the bottles for something else.,___,

What do you use it for?
I have really bad lime scale everywhere as we live in the south east and have very hard water0 -
Yes, same here, we get a lot of limescale in our water. I use Happy Shopper white vinegar for cleaning. I sometimes put some in the fabric conditioner compartment of the washing machine, as it helps to clean the machine of limescale and is cheaper than Calgon. I also use it diluted to wash the lino in the kitchen, as using detergent just seems to make the lino all sticky.. The bathroom floor and tiles often get cleaned with vinegar, too.0

I use white (distilled) vinegar for cleaning and in the washing machine when I can get it in bulk, otherwise I use malt (brown) vinegar which smells a bit more at the time but your clothes don't after they come out of the machine and neither do floors, surfaces etc after they are dry.
Remove limescale from taps etc by soaking kitchen towel or loo roll in vinegar and wrapping it over the offending area. Leave for several hours. Repeat as necessary.0 -
Left distilled vinegar in my kettle today for just over an hour - came up lovely! Now working on the shower hose!0
