How many competitions do you enter a day/week?

An interesting aspect to this emerges when you look back at posts on the MSE Competition Time forum from those earlier years.

There were evidently far fewer compers entering via MSE back then!

I am estimating this from the number of times a competition post was thanked in the past comparing to how many times a post gets thanked now.

I know this is only a rough yardstick but the differrence between then and now is very noticeable.

I think there are more entering but also more people remembering to thank. I was really guilty of forgetting to thank the person who posted the competition until the enter button was added. So I think now we are seeing a truer indication of how many people are entering a competition from this site.

Well that Thanks button has been operating since at least 2005.

Notice on that post there was a competition to win a £4,000 holiday yet only 18 people thanked it. That was pretty typical for that period.

( PS ~ Don't Thank it now. Lol. It closed in 2005 )

I enter about 35 onlines a day and while I have never wonr anything "major" getting any little thing for free is a nice way to pass the time on my lunch break.

ive entered about 35-50 a day since beginning of november and have not won a thing : ( i was starting to wonder if i was doing something wrong!

depending on what the comp as i only enter for things i want or what i could gift to family started a christmas box.
i enter about 20-30 a day only started back last september but i think i've been quite luckly so far.

i won an iphone 3 which got upgraded to the iphone 4 from lucozade comp and the xbox 360 with kinect and game from cokezone

i've had few smaller wins dvds, cds and few body gift sets bottles drink.

At a peak spending an hour a day on entering competition. Success rate of about 1 per 1,000 entries. I have been selective, only entering for prizes I wanted. Only enter about three or four a day now.
