Its getting on me t**ts!
Is there anywhere to forward spam to so that it gets investigated/stopped?
My server has spam assasin installed, but that just labels the spam and it still gets into my inbox. When travelling and using dial up or my 3g/GPRS card it can take 10 mins or so to down load a load of spam.
Anyway if I wanted dodgy viagra or a fake rolex I would know where to go!!
Any help appreciated!

I tend to set up filters and send email around various email accounts from web based email so eventually mots spam gets caught.0 -
I used to receive personal email at a "vanity" domain name i.e. my name and eventually after five years of using it I was receiving around 250 spams per day. I used a commercial service http://spamcop.net which charges $30/year for a filtered mailbox. It was very good but I gave it up when I turned off the domain and moved over to Google's Gmail. The spam filter in Gmail is excellent, it rarely misses and mail is moved into a special folder where it gets automatically deleted after 30 days.
A good friend of mine has her own personal email domain and used to redirect this through her ISP email account at Onetel. However, their spam filtering was next to useless so last week I set her up with the same personal email address but now it is sent through Gmail. She still uses her same outlook express client on her PC but she now doesn't get any spam at all. All she does is go into her spam folder on Gmail to check for false hits - real mails wrongly targetted as spam, but in my experience these are rare. Her incoming and outgoing mail still use her old address but Gmail sits in the middle as a filter. Very cool.
Despite my reservations that one day Google will be the new Microsoft - the company everyone loves to hate but most of us can't do without their products - I don't hesitate to recommend Gmail.
The service is still in beta, although this must be the longest beta in history. To get signed up somebody needs to invite you. Ask someone you know who has gmail to send you an invite, or I'd be happy to do the same. Send me an email to cheesy dot mike at gmail dot com and I'll send back an invite.

Hi
I use https://www.spamarrest.com to filter my email, this puts a barrier in the way whereby before a message can get through the sender has to confirm that they are genuine. The sender only ever has to do this once. Most spam is sent from fake addresses so there is not much that gets through nowadays.
Also, I sometimes lookup the whois record if the email address is connected to a website address (i.e. not @hotmail.com or @yahoo.co.uk etc etc) - usually this is when someone is trying to sell you something - I then report them to their hosting company.
This is a good whois lookup

Hope that helps0 -
Mailwasher is a good program but isnt free. I mainly use web based mails now because of the constant viruses.0

Intelligent Message Filter...
...if you had an Exchange Server
Most companies who provide a webmail service, especially Gmail and Yahoo, tend to have a very good spam/bulk e-mail folder.
