This is your letter. Cribbed from a post by 10past6 on the main DFW forum.
Still unplug the bloody phone. Even if you have to tell your nearest and dearest that you can only be reached after 9:00pm when you can plug it back in. It will have an effect on you that you really do not need to bear right now.
Dear SirsHarassment by telephone
Account Number: XXXXXXX
I am writing in relation to the quantity and frequency of telephone calls that I have received from your company, which I deem to be personally harassing.
I have verbally requested that these stop, but I am still receiving calls. (Delete if necessary)
I now require all further correspondence from your company to be made in writing only.
I am of the view that your continued harassment of me by telephone puts you in breach of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
If you continue to harass me by telephone, you will also be in breach of the Communications Act (2003) s.127 and I will report you to OFCOM, Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading, meaning that you will be liable to a substantial fine.
Be advised that any further telephone calls from your company will be recorded. (**Even if you don‘t yet have recording equipment!!**)
Yours faithfully,BSC No 248

I unplugged my phone every morning at 8:00 and put it back in at 9:00 pm. The times I put it in a couple of minutes early it always rang - I could tell it was Barclaycard.

If you're moving in 3 weeks you're right, not much point in changing your number before then.
Good luck!

When I answered a creditor I just refused to give my DOB due to the fact that I did not know who they were and I did not wish to give out personnal details over the phone.
100% of them hung up or asked me to give them a ring

I just turned my phones to silent and screened the calls. I now answer them and tell them I've gone BR - The response is a quick, "Oh", then they're off the telephone. It's quite a relief.“I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.”

I never understood this, why do you not tell the creditors you are going BR, Its not going to help them get more money if they harrass you, or can they get preferential treatment? If so how ?He's not an accountant - he's a charlatan0 -

The best thing you can do with creditors is take them by suprise like I did.
If you are going to do it (BR) do it before they get a sniff. If they know they will hassle you all day with calls and letters etc. You are the only one who can give them preferential treatment.
So don't tell them, don't speak to them and don't pay one over the other.
Give them all a big suprise if possible. "A nod's as good as a wink to a blind horse";)Better to be poor than a slave to wealth
