He DID have a job with stupid carphone warehouse paying him up £800 a month PART TIME. But he failed a meaningless test... answered 1 wrong question and they dismissed him:O So he was able to pay for everything, but now everything's mounting up. Blackhorse's asset recovery company warned that he will now be billed upto £4000 of interest from the remaining agreement when the car is auctioned off. He dumped the debt management company and decided to pay the regular monthly payments but the idiot on the other end of the phone kept demanding £7k to clear the account, so anyways the car has been auctioned off for a very tiny amount.. about £3-4k i guess and the rest will get billed to him!
He got an email from the debt management company last week... read this:I am sorry to here this, however had we known the black horse debt was car finance and not a loan this would never of been allowed on the program. I can also assure you we are a very reputable company with many thousands of happy and satisfied clients and there is no "dodgy dealings" going on here. You are more than welcome to complain to the financial ombudsman we are fully compliant
Well why the hell are they running a financial debt management company if you dont know the difference between loan and finance!! And why did they agree to taking the car finance on the plan.. recieve the money but dont pay it to the creditors?

From my experience of the staff at Carphone Warehouse, the ability to spell your own name correctly is about as far as it goes. What was the question he got wrong?0 -
"I strongly advise anyone who wants to finance a car with Lloyds TSB Blackhorse Finance ......"
You never did get round to saying what your advice was.
"my friend was 18 years old back in july 2008"
Please say happy birthday to him from me.
"and was mis-sold a £6000 car"
Wot a chiz
they first offered him a deal for £99
Wot a bargain
"but after months of delays in my friend getting his driving license.."
I blame the driving school
and the driving test examiner
and the silly theory test
and Renault.
"the RENAULT CAR DEALER kicked up the monthly price to £180 but agreed to £150."
I would have kicked up a fuss.
Wot another chiz.
I would have dropped out of the deal.
"They offered him £50 worth of petrol every month if he took the deal which he thought was too good to be true, no other dealer does that do they?"
So the price went up from £99 which was a good price. I was surprised that you could get a £6,000 ( even if it was a Renault ) for just £99 because that would have been a £5,901 discount.
£180 per month is a lot more than a one off £99.
Mind you they did drop to £150 a month and offer £50 worth of petrol per month. I would have said "keep your free petrol and knock off £50 from the monthly price."
I have spoken to my East End solizitor and she said as your mate 'ad sined a kontrak bak in July that was it. The car woz 'is for £99 cos that is wot woz in the kontrak.
Check the contract sined in July cos £50 worth of petrol a month sounds as if he gets like an annuity of £50 a month for the rest of is life which when you are only 18 is worf a bomb.
"On the day of signing the deal in july 2008, renault didnt do even a 100% finance or employment check on my friend to see whether he was financially able to afford it! "
More full them. They are stuffed. Just giv 'em the £99 dough and keep the car.
"He only just got a low paying job but renault didnt seem to check salary details or approve his employment first, they were too quick to snap up the deal and collect their commissions."
Well now they will get theire just deserts.
"He recently had to join a debt management company which he thought was able to help him refinance his debts! NO!!! Instead they paid themselves fees of up to £30 a month.. a fraction of payments were getting through to 1 of his other creditors on a regular monthly basis but recently found out, his car finance company - blackhorse hadn't recieved payments since december 2008 until now .. March 2009!"
They new they were on a loser witch is y they paid themselves instid of chargin 'im.
"His car agreement was terminated last friday and without telling him first, repossessed his car!"
That is out of order Guv.
"They should at least notifiy you before trespassing on your property"
Yes defo. You should always give your victim notice before you commit an offence.
and it had all his possesstions and university work in the boot! IS that allowed ??
Defo. Wot 'e puts in is boot is up to im.
"They did post him a scrappy letter of the termination and recovery but it's left him distraught, angry and unable to do anything."
Claim sickness benefit.
Even if he recovers his belongings, they will auction off the car to pay off the arrears and still bill him £1000-£2000 at the end!?
Don't let them get away wiv it.
He doesnt have internet so I'm writing it for him on here,
ear is a usefull tip. See if is uni as got access to the internet or try at a public librerey.
"if anyone has help or advice, please let me know urgently!"
I am shaw you will get sum good advice
"Just a warning to anyone who deals with Blackhorse Finance - ''Unknown Person''
"He needs to be relieved "
How in-convenient for him.
He doesnt know how to handle a phone call, an incredibly rude vile man who puts the phone down if you ask to speak to his manager!! I've tried searching for the contact number of Lloyds TSB Chairman or Finance Director, no luck! Theres no possible way of making a complaint to the senior staff / Directors.
R U Shaw?
IF anyone knows a way, share it with us! I complained to the Financial Ombudsman and hes sending out a complaint letter to all companies involved. I've just realised my friend has been MIS-SOLD with ALL THESE COMPANIES, are there any banks or lenders who deals business honestly and responsibly..
Search me Guv. The old bill ofen do.
"they are just soo hungry and desperate for money."
Aren't we all?...............................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0 -

I think it was the answer he got wrong not the question................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0 -
Pathetic
Your friend i.e an adult purchased a vehicle, he then refused to pay for it and it was repossessed and he is being billed for the costs of this.
Why should he get a free car?
As for wanting to speak to a chairman or director, please explain why anyone being paid over 15k a year at Blackhorse would waste their time to deal with someone so obviously !!!!!!.0 -
Robert - 'wot 'e puts in 'is boot is up to 'im'.
Really made me chuckle!!Are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation? :cool:0 -

I think the answer was "The Emu and the tub of Vaseline officer" but what was the question?0 -

I thought I would never say this one one of these threads but...........
He signed the agreement knowing he couldn't afford to pay the loan - he had a low paid job and is a student. Most students don't have allot of money so why did he buy a 6k car, doesn't make any sense to me. I'm sorry but your friend needs to learn how to manage money better and budget and only buy what he can afford not what he wants and then when it all goes wrong sit whinging about it.
As for Black Horse finance I have found them to bend over backwards when it comes to lower payments for a DMP, I do realise not everyone will have this opinion .
Yes he should have been credit checked but he also shares responsibility as to the purchase and the cost.
I am totally bewildered as to why anyone who cannot afford repayments would take out a loan of this amount, the road is very slippery downwards for the next 6 years.Wow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p
It is not illegal to open another persons mail unless you intend to commit fraud - this is frequently incorrectly posted
I live in my head - I find it's safer there:p
