    Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
    - Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
    - Why the early bird gets the worm;
    - Life isn't always fair;
    - and maybe it was my fault.

    Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).
    His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

    Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

    It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

    Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

    Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

    Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

    Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son, Reason.

    He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers;
    I Know My Rights
    I Want It Now
    Someone Else Is To Blame
    I'm A Victim :rolleyes:

    I think we may get blackballed. The above is total heresy and could lead to civil unrest and rioting in the streets.

    OP, Your friend took out a loan for a car, knowing he couldn't afford it.
    He didn't make the payments, and fell into arrears.
    He consulted a fee charging debt management company, who apparently did nothing apart from charge fees - no surprise there then
    The loan company still did not get any payments.
    The loan company exercised their right to repossess the vehicle. It is normal for this to be done without warning - debtors have been known to hide cars when they know the repo man is on his way - can you believe that!?

    The travesty is this..........

    A complaint has now been raised with the FOS about each company involved. At the current going rate that will be £1350 (£450 each) of fees "Kerr-chinggg!!" levied on the industry which will all eventually work its way through to be charged back out at the front end to other customers.

    You really couldn't make it up.

    Just read the OP's other posts on the DFW board. It seems that the OP and their friend may be related.:kisses3:

    By all means complain about the debt management company, but look at it from the lenders perspective..........less than 6 months into a HP contract the borrower stops paying, instructs a debt management company and stops contact. Evidence = attempted debt avoidance

    Immediate priority, to mitigate losses, would be to recover vehicle before debtor decides to sell it or crash it.

    That to me does not really justify the title of this thread.

    What a great thread, it never ceases to amaze me

    Hi I borrowed some money and its everybody else's fault !

    And what a paragon of virtue this post is for the University system :D
  • This is the best thread ever.

    Sorry OP, but i suspect Blackhorse would have made several attempts to contact your "friend". If he doesnt respond then what would you expect them to do?

    Seriously though, where have you all come from, get over to the other car loan thread, i am beginning to wonder if it should be renamed the troll thread.

    should be forwarded to every emai every forum etc etc ....great post!

    comingback to the original post i have dealt with blackhorse. and thought they were perfectly legit and helpful. P..S Why did your 'mate' apply for a finance and then go back after he/she passed? ofcourse rates will change etc......Maybe next time he should have passed first, or better still graduated and got a job before deciding to buy a shiny new car.
