Makro own brand. I buy it when the 5L bottles are on BOGOF. I forget the price but it's much cheaper than Fairy etc., and it's just as good. I like the Woodland Berries scented one. Here I go again on my own....0

That's the one I've been using too, but I've noticed it's not as kind to my hands as Fairy, so I've started wearing the old marigolds more often

I have a DW, but glasses are normally done by hand or other over night soaking items. For them, I use the cheapie washing liquid from Asda-1 ltr bottle for 16p...excellent product and does the job fine!!

I buy persil or fairy washing up liquid,I find with the cheaper ones you tend to use more and they dont seem to cut through the grease,I only buy fairy or persil when it is on special offer or bogof,0

madmaz wrote:hi all! New here ,love this forum to bits!!! Right we've done the washing powder debate but what about the washing up liquid chat, i must wash_up 10 times a day, costs me a small fortune in liquid, any tried and tested cheapies?
Would you consider washing up less often? Eg keep the smaller amounts of washing up in a basin in a cupboard if the thought of it sitting out is unacceptable - until you've got enough to fill a sink then do it all at once, using just one sink of water and detergent? Then you'd be at the kitchen sink less often. I guess it would be similar to having a laundry basket, ie have a dish basket. Just a suggestion, though I suspect I have revealed that I am a closet minger...perhaps it's not for you.:o

The new fairy in a dispencer is good and you can get refills not cheap, but lasts ages as you put in straight on to a sponge and creates masses of bubbles.
Only got it as had a half price coupon, but might well get it again xPawpurrs x0 -

I'm a closet minger too then!I was thinking eaxctly the same thing
I wash up twice a day maximum, unless I've got friends in & have loads of dishes from cooking for them0 -
Last time we were in B&Q a couple of weeks ago they were selling special offer packs of Fairy Liquid Original - 6 big bottles for I think it was £8.78! We bought a pack and I gave one bottle to our neighbour, but I think the other 5 will last us for about 3 years! lol
I meant to post it on the Grabbit Board but forgot...They may still have them in stock though.

I used to buy the expensive washing up liquids too but last time I did the shopping I decided to buy the cheapy one from Asda and it works just the same. I only use a small squirt. I also leave the washing up until the washing bowl is full to save on water.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

I don't go for value liquid as they are quite watery. But its unusual if there isn't an offer on either own-brand liquid, persil or fairyat some time or other in Tesco, Sainsbury's or Asda, so tend to stock up when I get a chance!
Me and OH certainly don'twash twice a day! Save the dishes up till the end of the day and do one bigger wash (saves a bit of water too!)!Official DFW Nerd Club #20  Proud To Be Dealing With My DebtsDFW Long Hauler #109
