A lot of the time my points show up about an hour after they have finished processing it, my first jobs points didn't show up for about 24 hours after the payment showed up... so I wouldn't worry too much. I would assume that even if they took points away from you it would still show on there.

Hi I received an e-mail about a job but when I looked on their website the job wasn't available.

I have now been told that as I 'failed the test' for this particular retailer I cannot carry out any shops.

I have asked to redo the test and await a reply...

Has anyone else asked to resit a 'test' and were you allowed to or do you have to wait so many weeks before doing so ? I think it was about a month ago.

I'm not able to redo test due to a contractual agreement. Has anyone else come across this ?

Yes if you read back through the thread this has happened to others before, but seems to be a more recent thing with Gap

Am I right in thinking that Gap pay you for the whole reimbursement amount even if you have spent less than it?
I have always tried to come as near to the reimbursement as possible, if I had the cheapest option would I pocket the difference IYSWIM?

I think Ellie would disagree with you there! Before you accept one of these jobs, wait until you've had feedback from someone who's done the job before!

Stupid bloody fish!!!!! I accepted the job as I was going to buy DD a goldfish anyway and the reimbursement covered the cost of the fish. Yipee I though - free fish. Yeah right, it didn't last 24 hours and I ended up going to the local garden centre/acquarium to buy another one. And yes DD did notice that they weren't quite the same colour so had to explain that the water had changed it's colour a bit (she's 4 she's none the wiser  !!!) If your going to buy anything stick to pet food - safer option. I missed this round of pet shop jobs - damn!!!

Am I right in saying GAP have paid up early - sorry if already mentioned haven't gone back to this morning to read all e-mails yet.

Thanks, wish I had concentrated more now ! I only had one Q wrong...

I never seem to get anything near me apart from pubs (some meals) and I wont go into a pub on my own and also wont take my kids into the pubs that have been listed.

Never mind, I did pass the chicken test but know of only one near here and that hasn't come up yet.
  • Sorry for the newbie question :o But i'm doing my first mystery shop tomorrow and am just going over my papers now beforehand to make sure i'm prepared.

What does left of the store and right of the store mean? And also store number - is this the phone number?
  • Also whats the best way to remember the different timing points? They all occur quite near to one another and it'd be quite obvious if you wrote them down there and then in front of the staff member?!

You have to stand and face the outlet, then state what is on the left hand side of it and the right, ie the name of the shop and what type of business it is.

I think the store number isn't the phone number but the 4 digit code off the receipt.

Hi and welcome. First off can you take the client name out of the post. really badly frowned upon. We refer to this store as the "chicken" place. Whichever "store" your visiting you need to note down what shop is next door each side e.g Asda on the right, Tesco on the left. It's to make sure you've gone to the right shop. HTH.
