I'm in the same situation carrasfe. Yes, you need to declare yourself self-employed as well as employed, which will mean completing a tax return. Yes you can sign up to as many companys as you like. You do not have to pay any more NI, but you do need an exemption certificate, just ask for one the same time that you tell the tax office you are self employed.

Anyone seen REs quick poll? Supprise supprise no one wants to do a job with no fee!

Been out of touch for a few days so just catching up with everyone. I logged on to RE this morning and saw the poll. What a check. Bet their miffed we actually want a bloody fee when a credit check can be harmful if you apply for credit in the future.

A bit like having an Aids test then trying to get life insurance.

And while I am on about RE sod their polls. This one at least is about MS'ing. Some of them are just free market research for them. Then they can take the results and flog them as research.

I am having a poor me day. My pc is still playing up. Some of my and my hubbies email files vanished and I still dont know where they went. Got a pc doctor coming out Thursday to sort it for me. Has this ever happened to anyone else. Yet my AVG virus check shows nothing.

But yipee there was a fight yesterday in my Asda. Customers...the daughters started it then the mothers joined in. Ooooh the excitement. I was laughing wondering if the MS'er was about.

To crown it all my Andy Murray lost last night to Nadal. Not been a good week for me. Have changed mny mobie ringtone to "Things can only get better":rotfl:

    Cheers all.

So would I need to pay the NI even if I dont go over the 4k or whatever the level is?

Ridiculous, the fee for these last time wasn't bad at all for the time taken but with no fee it's a totally pointless assignment.

You won't need to pay any NI for your self employed work, as long as it is under the limit, and you fill in the appropriate forms.
