you did! It seems that it's the place to go for the very young teen's birthdays. Every two minutes the lights were going off and people were signing. Not good when trying to read the bleeding menu.
And I just being a miserable g1t?
My visit has to be between 12.00 and 2pm on a weekday so there shouldn't be any kids there! We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I'd be interested too!
Offsetting a loss against another income?
I've never come out with a loss on MSing though; this year I ended up somewhere around £800 profit, after everything I could squeeze through!
I have never made a profit in 4 years of MS work - part of the reason why i like picking up obscure remote jobs - I used to call them loss leaders - you 'had' to do them to build up your reputation with companies to attract further work in the future - If they made a paper loss it didnt make any odds.
Thats the thing though, all the talk of loss is a Paper loss using Inland Revenue mileage figures (because mileage does take into account wear and tear and depreciation of your vehicle as well) As in physical cash per month in my pocket, I dont make a loss per say.0 -
Good point Mike - I have thought a number of times about driving to a GAP coffee job 100 miles away for this reason but I've never gotten around to it. When I have more time (when the wife's working perhaps) I'll probably go for a drive!0

Actually thinking about coffee, does anyone know if TNS have lost the coffee contract?0

Well being honest, I am based in Inverness but the vast majority of my work in Caithness / Western Isles / Perthshire / Aberdeenshire / Argylll / Moray. Because of how remote everything is from Inverness the travelling is unavoidable but to avoid too many awkward questions if the sheets were looked at closely I tend to bulk up 4 or 5 jobs onto one long trip to justify the 240 mile round trips!
This was a big part of my fall out with Gap - even when they paid extra mileage is never covered the paper costs but they would phone and ask you to drive 128 miles round trip to go to a fast food resturant in Fort William for an extra £3 - Yes, why did you claim £51 mileage to go and do a single £7 job?0 -

There's not many, but if to click the 'other' box on the search page and put * in the search box, it will show all jobs available.0 -
