I guess like a lot of MSing, it depends on whether you'd enjoy it / is it near to you etc. I'm doing one of these jobs for Gfk this week. It's only a few miles from my parents, where we're going for lunch anyhow, and the fee will cover the cost of my husband's admission, the car park, required purchases and leave me about £8. Definitely not a huge amount, but will be a nice outing for us, so quite looking forward to it. I think they should refund the required purchases on top of the fee though. Just refunding the entrance for one person is a bit tight.
Not looking forward to having to order a hot meal though, just hours after a slap up meal at my Dad's! Do you think a bowl of soup would count?
The way I read the GfK assignment was that the fee was to cover all costs!!
At the sites I did last year the cafes did hot food and snacks - usually a bit pricey - no competition. The last one was £3.30 for coffee + cake.0 -

Are GFK playing the let's screw our MS'ers game too now. I have just got offered a visit. It is an organisation which has an English and a Scottish branch, Kind of heritage, gardens etc.
It is something to do with yon Rabbie Burns person. Entrance is £5 each, Then you have to buy something in the snack bar, something in the souvenir shop. It is about 50 miles away in darkest Ayrshire so petrol would be say £10. I tot that up at around £25. So you would be around £5 out of pocket.
As the bold Rabbie himself said "Oh would some power the giftie gie us tae see oorsells as other see us"
Tempted to email them an in Burns speek ask them "Dae youse think ma heid buttons up the back"
Might suit Timmne HRW who is a bit more cultured than me.
If its the one that I saw yesterday, its a very small place (something to do with a single man?) - the website doesnt show a cafe OR a shop, so might not be as bad as it looks.
It was just too far away for me, 60+ miles, not worth it.1373/100000 -
Hi everyone, I've had a read of the first page of the thread about how to fill in the tax return and I'm still a little confused.
My records are all up to date etc so I have no problems with what numbers I'm supposed to put in, I'm just confused as to which boxes I need to write them in! I'm planning to do the paper version. If someone would mind telling me which boxes I need to fill in (as in the numbers of the box on the paper version) I would be very grateful. I am not planning to claim for anything like broadband etc as I have not earnt over the tax threshold so I will not be paying any tax anyway.
Also I only started MS in this tax year. I have entered my Description of business as 'Mystery shopper' but left the other fields blank. Do I need to fill in the box 'If your business started after 5 April 2008, enter the start date' ?
Thank you in advance to anyone who replies to my plea for help0 -
You all thing you have footie problems. I am a Rangers fan and my captain has just been stripped of the club and country captaincy and our no 1 goalie dropped. Both banned by us for 2 weeks.
I predict Barca to win the CL. Man United to win the EPL. Relegated West Brom, Hull ( serves you right Daniel Cousin) and Sunderland. Oz to win the Ashes.
Wonder what I would get at the bookie's for all that.
Josie could probably give me the odds.:footie:0 -
Oh I am so fed up with Ridiculous Eyeballs. I did a pub visit with ONE meal and 2 drinks. It will not submit as it keeps saying I have unanswered questions.
Namely what was the 2nd meal...I answered no 2nd meal as this is not in the scenario. No 3rd drink and no childrens meal for the same reason.
So I have fired off an email nearly battering the keys off my poor pc and told them I have this problem every time and they need to address this issue. 102 questions too and a summary. Bloody hell. There is a nice pub around 3 miles from this one and nearer to me which does a carvery for £3.50 each. Only Mon to Sat though as it goes up to £6.50 on Sundays. But you get turkey, beef and ham, fab roast and boiled potatoes, stuffing, Yorkshires, delicous gravy. And no report to do or photo's to upload.
Is it just me. And did the blue supermarket yesterday and picked the meal deal for 9 quid and got charged the whole price. ie almost 6 quid too much.
Not my best MS':eek::mad::eek:'ing weekend.Clique member no 1.:D0 -
General RE query here. I am off out against my better judgement to do a chain pub with a drink from List A and one from drink B. And a sunday roast. Hubbie is coming with me as it is a gorgeous day. Now on previous visits they asked questions about OH's meal. Was it hot, served correctly etc. I said I wasn't prepared to comment as THEY miserable gits were not paying for 2 meals just 1. What do the rest of you do. OH says unless they pay for his meal he ain't commenting.
And why 2 lists of drinks anyway. What does that tell them. One has tea one has cofee, one hfas wine and the other lager etc etc.
Of course if they paid for two meals you would taste your companion's meal, but "since they paid for their own meal I didn't feel that I could ask to taste it"?
So far when I've taken a friend I've managed to have both meals within reimbursement, but I definitely wouldn't be prepared to comment on a meal that I hadn't tasted0 -
Hi,
Can anyone tell me if completed jobs done via GFK can be viewed on their website?
As soon as I submit the questionnaire the details are gone.
Thanks.0 -

No once you submit it the report whooshes through cyberspace. You can only check your list of completed jobs in your payment history but not the actual report.Clique member no 1.:D0
