Are GFK playing the let's screw our MS'ers game too now. I have just got offered a visit. It is an organisation which has an English and a Scottish branch, Kind of heritage, gardens etc.

It is something to do with yon Rabbie Burns person. Entrance is £5 each, Then you have to buy something in the snack bar, something in the souvenir shop. It is about 50 miles away in darkest Ayrshire so petrol would be say £10. I tot that up at around £25. So you would be around £5 out of pocket.

As the bold Rabbie himself said "Oh would some power the giftie gie us tae see oorsells as other see us"

Tempted to email them an in Burns speek ask them "Dae youse think ma heid buttons up the back"

Might suit Timmne HRW who is a bit more cultured than me.

The one I did of these last week was in the city centre & as I was there anyway for another job it worked out well - a fiver to get in, £1 for sweets in the shop & £3 for the Guide Book, which was really interesting & I'll use in my other business so worth it for me. No cafe in this one as it's only small so didn't have that to pay out so I ended up with £16 for less than 30 minutes work & I really enjoyed the visit - didn't even know this existed! (If you're a member of this organisation you get in free to these places.)

I got the one in Ayrshire through the next day but that was just too far for me, and as you say would cost a lot in petrol just to get there, then the entrance etc., but for anyone close by it's worth doing - it's another small place so they may not have a cafe either.
    ;)

The one I've got, they say they will refund my admission, but not anyone else that comes with me. Might be a different scenario, but worth having another look if you're thinking about it.

Yes, the one for me is the fee and you get your admission refunded as well. I guess you're worse off if the have a cafe. I've noticed they don't vary the fee when there's a cafe. It's the same with the green homeware shop that I'm doing today. Fortunately mine doesn't have a cafe so that won't come off my fee, but if it did you'd be a couple of quid down.

Hope you can help ... it's my first time !

I've recently registered with various MS companies and have completed 3 jobs from RE. I have 3 jobs 'pending' on BARE and the due dates have been and gone without me hearing a word from the company in over a week. Is this usual? Also, does anyone work for PIP? All advice is very much appreciated as I'm new to all this. Thank-you!

Wonder what I would get at the bookie's for all that.

Josie could probably give me the odds.

I hope your right with the relegation predictions!:T

I hope you're right too HP, but suspect it could be WBA, Boro & A.N. Other.

    Josie:

I am in a good mood, but suspect it's too little too late for the mighty Boro

I am Hull City, so sulking after yesterday, Just hoping it's not too late, getting rather worried now about the Mighty Tigers......
Only Sunderland (win) Liverpool, Villa, Bolton(draw) Stoke(win) and Man U to play now:eek:

I suspect my AN Other will be Hull or the Mags. Just looking at the various run ins and after ours, Fulham (win) Arsenal, Man U (lose) Newcastle (draw - because we always do up there) and Villa & WHU (lose) Hull & Newcastle look the next toughest run ins.

Newcastle could get wins against Fulham and Portsmouth & a draw against us and Hull I think will only get one more win against Stoke, with maybe a draw at Sunderland.

I'm going to go now before we get told to beggar off and start our own football thread! :o There is one on here but it's all Chelsea / ManU / L'pool and nothing for the other end of the table!
  • I was thinking the same Josie, Going to get told off talking Football and NOT ms, Lets hop we both stay up and Its west brom, Newcastle and sunderland go down.........

Haha, I'm an idiot, I wrote a reply about pending jobs on RE... hang on!

I'm assuming you mean on the "my apps" page on BARE? I don't know what that's all about, I've never encountered that. Sorry!

When jobs show as pending on BARE it means you have applied and they haven't decided whether or not to give you the job. Sadly, it IS usual! This happens to us all - when I first registered with them I had months and months of jobs pending, and they go past the due date without BARE ever bothering to tell you they have allocated the job to someone else.

Don't worry about it. Eventually you will get a job with them, but it just takes time. I had completely given up on BARE and stopped even applying for jobs when out of the blue I got a phonecall from them asking me to do some jobs, I guess someone had let them down.
