picked up one of the hotel jobs but then realised you don't get any reimbursement for the second persons meal etc.

not going to bother doing it now.

When it comes to keeping records, do you keep your paper records strictly in date order, for example one folder per month, or do you keep them in client order, i.e. one folder per MS company?

I've got a folder for each company I do regular work for and file everything in date order.

For companies I just do odd bits and bobs for, I file each company together in a misc folder.

You do need a system where you can find paperwork easily if a company rings up. I had a call from a company yesterday as the client raised a query on a merchandising job I did on the 8th December! Luckily I was able to find the paperwork quickly and was able to answer the question.
Here I go again on my own....

I use the same process either way is Illona as long as you do use a system.

Or share a starter and pudding and then at least it's only one main meal to pay for?

Slightly o/t but is HP around? I was in As** today (the place was heaving, absolute nightmare!) anyway I tried to return an item and was told as of Monday they no longer give refunds OR exchanges without a receipt!

I knew I wouldn't get a refund, but in the past they have always happily given a credit for things if I'd lost my receipt. I'm just so shocked I wanted to check it's real and wasn't just the one store messing me around? Anyone else come across this?

    Oh, and Happy Easter everyone!

Is that Asda? You could give them a ring on 0845 3001111\0113 2419833\0500 100055 to confirm.

Hmmm, it is within their rights to do that, I guess.

I wouldn't mention that four letter word in HP's presence if I were you... think I'm going to boycott them personally! Oh, you didn't tho' actually, did you - phew!

I've been a bit disappointed with them lately. They were always my favourite supermarket but now they don't take coupons, apparently they no longer give refunds/exchanges, and they don't give Clubcard points. Looks like Tes** is beating them on all fronts.

I'm not quoting the full shop names because of what someone said earlier about MS companies googling and finding this forum. Even though I'm not talking about jobs here, I thought I'd best take no chances!

Also Josie, yes it's clearly within their rights, but what I'm saying is it's a major change from the way they have operated before. I've always been told you can do an exchange without a receipt, which was helpful as I tend to lose receipts! It's obviously a policy change rather than a change in rights, and I just think it's a shame.
