  • Hi

I'm pretty new to this too.

I registered with aba i end of January and never saw a sausage or a job on there.

Someone on here very kindly talked me through what I should see.

I have since contacted aba i and they have now added a few shop logos to my first page.

I would never have know about it if it wasn't for whitelabel and a few others

Thanks again. Hope this helps other newbies

Wonder if anyone can recommend a good sat nav for MSing. I'm looking at a TomTom One XL (as its under £100 and I'm not paying)- appreciate any comments

Wow! You are certainly well organised! Thanks for the info - I can see the sense in that. I remember when I first started MSing... (not that long ago), my first few jobs were telephone calls with a fairly low fee - I'll call it £5 for the purposes of this example. Part of me thought, like, is it worth going through all this for a fiver? But then another part of me thought, do a few and it mounts up and it's (for example) 20 quid I wouldn't have otherwise.

As I've been unable to get a proper job, that 20 quid was really, really useful!

I guess I was being naive over these jobs - there are none close to me so it would mean a special trip out. I guess if you use stations and airports a lot, I can see it's an easy way to make a few quid. Thanks for educating me!
i know what you mean about the low fee jobs but they do add up over the month. i was toying with the idea of going to another train station after work and doing a few jobs there as well but it was going to take 30 mins each way on the train so i didn't bother with them.

The reports are pretty much identical for each shop in the train station so it's quite easy!

I have a season ticket for the train as well so it doesn't cost me anything extra!

Hi LW; I have a TomTom One which was about £100. It is brilliant most of the time but does have a few bugs in the system (i.e. thinking a cycle path is a main road and it tells me to "KEEP RIGHT" at every bloody layby on A roads and when I go past M'Way exits). Still I find it easy to use and a great help, especially if I'm travelling 100's of miles to random places. Given the price of XLs has come down I'd probably go for one of those, but I am biased towards TomTom's.

It's hard enough to grab the jobs as it is without inviting all your friends and neighbours to set up in competition with you!!! :rotfl:

Thankfully I haven't come across this problem... probably because I haven't told anyone what I'm doing! (Well, apart from immediate family, that is - and I've sworn them to secrecy). Most of my 'friends' (by which I suppose I mean other mums at school) think I'm a housewife ;) If pushed, I would just say I do a bit of auditing!

I have told quite a lot of people about mystery shopping(i work/live in a different area to most of my friends/family so it's not too bad) - loads have signed up but only three have actually dones jobs. one couldn't even be bothered filling in the report after doing the shop, and the other two did one job and havn't bothered since.

I think most people can't be a$$ed! - everyone wants to come on the free meals etc with me but don't want the hassle of doing it themselves.
  • Thanks Johnney - I'll get it ordered before they all go at £91!!

How annoying about cycle paths ) i'm London outskirts!

Should save my petrol and stress factor

Take a scan/photo of any brochure you were given and send that.

Click on "View/Submit" (or something like that), do the stupid quiz which will drive you up the wall, then enter your language and date, click the button, enter the date a little down the page then "Save for later".

Thanks Johnny, I refuse to call them Bare - as thats what I ensure my OH is on the rare occasions I get him home. ;) So for me Bear they shall remain, lol.

And interestingly just had an email from first tracking about some potential jobs so anyone who signed up for them and hasnt heard anything might be worth checking your junk mail (mine was hiding even though the email should have been on my safe list).
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.
