I have to rant sorry!!

What cuckoo land do some people live in?

My mother is driving me insane....its ok she says all your debt will be gone, us lot all have to pay for what we have!!!

We lost the ability to pay....we didnt have a champagne life style..we worked bloody damm hard for what we had ...

We lost 2 jobs...we are supporting 4 good kids between us....

We are getting no help with the redundancy (still no JSA)!

Im working my !!!! of here running a very new little business.....

How dare someone tell me im not paying!

This is getting to me today..i feel soooo ill....I cant let this beat me!!!

You'll have to grin and bear it I'm afraid. Sadly we cannot chose our relatives and they are entitled to their opinions, however blinkered that opinion is. You could always tell her what you have told us - no job, no champagne lifestyle just circumstances and a bit of support would go a long way. Just try not to get too angry with her.

Mine was the worst too. She really believed that I was going to prison etc and would complain about how she couldn't understand how I was sleeping at night - because she wouldn't have been able to.

I think that my Dad was disappointed that I had all degenerated into this mess but stood by everything and is pleased I have come out the other end unscathed. Refused point blank to tell my grandparents though - they come from a different generation and it was not worth putting them or me through the upset (because it really would have upset them, big time).

You poor thing m&m.......

It is for this very reason that I haven't informed anyone close to me that I am BR.... I would never hear the end of it. I have spent a lifetime being criticised and listening to negativity and to be honest going BR was probably the most positive thing I have ever done.
While it is a struggle with the budget, and everything I have ever had seems to have slipped through my fingers, I see it as a chance to pick myself up and move on. We all know on here what a struggle it all is, quite often others do not realise or understand and can be quite hurtful in their interpretation and opinions of BR.
Please don't let it get to you too much.

Seriously, you should try having my sister in law!!! With her nice car, three holidays a year, just about to buy a new house - her smugness and snide comments about me and missus br knows no bounds!! I wish i had a partner who worked 70 hours a week and allowed me to stay at home doing nothing!!
Everyone BR gets people who are 'so much better than you' and its usually family - stuff em - like someone said on here the other day those who make the biggest fuss usually have the biggest debt secrets!!

Dont worry about it Mr & Mrs, my wife and i have had something similar from the mother in law.

Our circumstances are different as our trouble started by making a bad decision.

The mother in law said to us " you two are shocking, not everyone has the luxury of just making their debts dissappear with no repurcusions".

I kindly sat her down, told her about how we will be giving up the family home that we have invested so much time money and affort into, the family home that her grandchildren would have hopefully inherited from us etc etc.

After that she kind of came round, but she still gets sly little digs in where she can.

I wouldnt mind but shes just had an 85K cash divorce selttlement!!!

At least i still have a husband!

Im much calmer now & im 1/2 way into my rented 4 bed detached lol
