Sorry you are totally wrong
One is the PLATINUM banking connect card (which has Platinum written across it between Barclays and connect), the other is a PREMIER banking connect card.0 -

Actually you are wrong, or you are both right and both wrong
My Plat current acccount card does NOT say "platinum"
My BarclayCard Plat card Does say "platinum"
This does not mean there are not other versions.0 -
There are some benefits for plat current account including
free 250 pound unlimited use overdraft no fees (within 250 pounds)
2 years free white goods purchase protection.
free replacement statements,
500 pound daily withdrawal
free branch drafts
free stopped cheques
free express cheques
free status enquiry (whatever that is)
* unless some of these have been discontinued0 -
OP,
I reckon as long as you open a savings account and open your platinum account, once you are up and running you can close your savings account. That's what I did but I was told the plat account was valid for 3 years but it's been longer than that and I'm still here0 -
I think the extended warranty etc stopped a few years ago.
I've just changed to Current Account Plus as of today, as the warranty is a great perk, and the increased interest rate will cover the £3 a month sub.
I hope I still get the silver card when my current one expires next month though, it looks great!0
