Phew got to work on time after a lovely walk here...its beautiful out there and I wish I was out running now! Got loads to do here this morning boo hisss.

Snaggles please go and get yourself some decent trainers you will start to do yourself injury if don't. The other thing I am going to harp on about is please make sure you all stretch correctly before an after each run.

Morning Maz, Sammy, Bookie, Bunny,Lou, and everyone else I have missed (sorry its on page 2 now and I can't see and remember who else has typed something!)

Both pairs are decent trainers, I'm just having problems finding a pair that suit my feet AND can fit my insoles in. I think I must have weird feet! :rotfl:

I suspect the problems I have with my joints are ligament-related somehow and a hangover from pregnancy. All my ligaments became too stretchy and I ended up with loads of joint instability, but in general, the running seems to be helping rather than making it worse. I'm wondering if it's because the surrounding muscles are getting stronger.

Morning all - thanks for starting the positive vibes Lou, I definitely need to start thinking more that way.

So.. I had a lovely weekend, Friday evening 'admiring' David Tennant on Comic Relief (thanks for the tip-off Maz ;) ); Saturday had lunch out with GS, afternoon in the pub and chilled out evening at home with lots of cuddles and stuff :p ; and Sunday I planted veggies and tidied up in the garden, had a nice walk to the shops, found a load of books for 50p each in the charity shop, cooked a really nice seafood pasta thing for tea and then watched a good film.

Oh and I think my thighs are fairly toned, I find that running and wearing high heels helps (not running in high heels though :rotfl: )

Hope everyone has a good day :)

i found my soles of my feet were a bit sore towards the end of my 5miles on saturday (sorry, keep dropping that in there!), i didn't have my sorbothane insoles in my new shoes as they seemed a little bit too thick for these new trainers, however now i have broken the trainers in i have reinserted (after cutting) my insoles to fit... so will see how they feel on tonights run... i think i will feel a real difference with them back in....

Squizz, your weekend sounded lovely... just what weekends are made for!

    How's your running going?

    Are you still doing Edinburgh?

What sort of trainers have you got Maz?

Do they have removable insoles so you can get them out easily to put the gel ones in?

(and well done again on your 5 miles :T) :D

Morning all, thanks Lou, for making a point about being positive. I could be done and depressed about the fact job hasn't started, at least they've emailed me back now. My auto cashback hasn't gone in yet either, but it may be in tomorrow.

Today, I actually am going to go and have an ask at the newsagents on our road if they need any help. I'd take a paper round at this point for some extra cash.

my new ones are Asics Blackhawk and they didn't have an insole as such, but when i put the sorbothanes in, it does seem a bit thick underfoot but once you walk about in them, then it seems better IYKWIM...

my old trainers were new balance and they had a removable insert so insoles went in no probs.. after slight trim... which i don't think is recommended but needed in my case...

That's the problem with my Puma ones - when I put the sorbothanes in, it lifts my foot up too much, and then back of my trainer rubs on my heel and blisters it.

My others seem to be a bit deeper, but my sorbothanes wont fit in them.

The running has been on hold - the fluey/ sinus thing really set me back but I can just manage the walk to work now without feeling knackered so will hopefully get back into it slowly.. am a bit wary as I made myself worse a few months ago by starting again too soon. Edinburgh is definitely not happening I'm afraid.

Ruby, that's great that you've heard from the job! :T
