SAVE MONEY ON BT AND AOL BILLS
I called BT and told them I was unhappy with the growing cost of their service (I am with Talk Talk, pay a flat monthly fee to call any time 24/7/365 and save #00's a year) I said I was thinking of dropping them for Talk Talk's new mobile service (£10 a month; 3 chips and free calls). BT said they did not want to lose my business so I asked them to cut my charges. They knocked off £12 from my standing charge making a £40 saving a year.
I then thought 'deja vu...?' called AOL and had a go at them for the rising price of my AOL broadband charges against their competitors and told them my 56k line (I have two) was as expensive as some BB lines. They uprated my main BB line to GOLD level, converted my 56k line to a BB line and also cut £12 off my bill!!!
Now my two BB lines cost less than my poor 56k line and BB line put together and I am saving more money on the new BT charges.
The moral of this story is to call your service provider, tell them that you are very unhappy about their service and their charges and are thinking of leaving them and ask what they are prepared to do about it. In £££'s.
Remember, Telecoms companies NEED your business. Telecoms is cut-throat competitive and you have the upper hand using Direct Debit, S/O as your ace card. If you were running a Telcoms company and faced with a choice of lose it or lower it, what would you do?
