I wanted to go to that gig but it clashed with Bon Jovi opening the o2 arena, went to see that one instead. Train down was fun, absolutely packed with Bon Jovi and Aerosmith fans:p

Reminds me of the time I went to see Green Day at Milton Keynes. Train back started at MK and stopped at Watford before going on to Euston. Elton John had been playing at Watford FC that night - you can imagine the interesting mixture of people on the train ;) Nicely dressed Elton fans and those of us who'd spent all day at a very sunny, dusty National Bowl watching an American punk band :rotfl: :rotfl:

Off to footie now - please win vibes appreciated!!! Catch you all later x

A minister passing through his church
in the middle of the day,

Decided to pause by the altar

and see who had come to pray.

Just then the back door opened,

a man came down the aisle,
The minister frowned as he saw
the man hadn't shaved in a while.
    His shirt was kinda shabby
and his coat was worn and frayed,

the man knelt, he bowed his head,
The n rose and walked away.

    In the days that followed,
each noon time came this chap,
each time he knelt just for a moment,

A lunch pail in his lap.

    Well, the minister's suspicions grew,
    with robbery a main fear,
He decided to stop the man and ask him,
    'What are you doing here?'

The old man said, he worked down the road.
    Lunch was half an hour.
Lunch time was his prayer time,
    For finding strength and power.

    'I stay only moments, see,

    because the factory is so far away;
as I kneel here talking to the Lord,
    This is kinda
    what I say:

'I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, LORD,

HOW HAPPY I'VE BEEN, SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHERS FRIENDSHIP AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN. DON'T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY, BUT I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY.
SO, JESUS, THIS IS JIM CHECKING IN TODAY.'

    The minister feeling foolish,

    told Jim, that was fine.
He told the man he was welcome
To come and pray just anytime

Time to go, Jim smiled, said 'Thanks.'
    He hurried to the door.
The minister knelt at the altar,
    he'd never done it before.

His cold heart melted, warmed with love,
    and met with Jesus there.
As the tears flowed, in his heart,
    he repeated old Jim's prayer:

'I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, LORD,

HOW HAPPY I'VE BEEN, SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHERS FRIENDSHIP AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN. I DON'T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY, BUT I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY.
SO, JESUS, THIS IS ME CHECKING IN TODAY.'

Past noon one day, the minister noticed

    that old Jim hadn't come.
As more days passed without Jim,
    he began to worry some.

At the factory, he asked about him,
    learning he was ill.

    The hospital staff was worried,
But he'd given them a thrill.

The week that Jim was with them,
    Brought changes in the ward.
    His smiles, a joy contagious.
    Changed people, were his reward.

    The head nurse couldn't understand
    why Jim was so glad,
when no flowers, calls or cards came,
    Not a visitor he had.

The minister stayed by his bed,
    He voiced the nurse's concern:
No friends came to show they cared.
    He had nowhere to turn.

    Looking surprised, old Jim spoke
    up and with a winsome smile;
'the nurse is wrong, she couldn't know,
that he's in here all the while

Every day at noon He's here,

a dear friend of mine, you see,
He sits right down, takes my hand,
Leans over and says to me:

'I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, JIM,
HOW HAPPY I HAVE BEEN, SINCE WE FOUND THIS FRIENDSHIP, AND I TOOK AWAY YOUR SIN.

ALWAYS LOVE TO HEAR YOU PRAY,
I THINK ABOUT YOU EACH DAY, AND SO JIM, THIS IS JESUS CHECKING IN TODAY.'
If this blesses you, pass it on. Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart

May God hold you in the palm of His hand

    and Angels watch over you.

    This is me . Just
    Checking In

    Hi everyone :D

Tomorrow I will be making a fruit smoothie for mum:T and breakfast in bed to :rotfl:.

W will help me make breakfast in bed for mum.:staradmin
  • Afternoon all :hello:

I was planning to do my bedroom and the boys today but OH in bed with a headache (better hurry up and go as he has a disco tonight in Eyemouth) and DS1 is still in bed. I have been doing the washing again while DS2 and Piper are out playing,

SS My DS1 went to play for a couple of hours yesterday with a friend from school and I took him there and back just so that I knew where he was. The mum said she would just allow them to wander around the street and 'hang out' so big bad mum brought him straight home as I don't do 'hanging out'. Result is DS1 hates me again.

Toots rest and take it easy I have been thinking of you.

Dusty hope all goes OK when you tell the kids

We had trouble here last night a crowd of young ones were causing a riot in the street at 3.30 am. The broke the wall outside our buliding and started throwing the bricks at the downstair houses. So plenty broken windows and doors here today. Just glad everyone is OK.

Hugs to all. off to do some more washing/line drying

ETA Quillion hope you don't mind I have just posted the words in your message on the OU christain fellowship it's lovely.

Miss A what a lovely thing to do for mum I'm sure she love it. Do you want to come over here after to make me one too??????? What a lovely daughter you are.

Just as a quick aside to everyone, I finally got around to opening my Lakeland catalogue I ordered last week and found a £5 gift voucher on the top so if anyone likes Lakeland it may be worth sending off for a catologue to get the voucher. There's no code but it can be used instore or via mail order. Hope this helps someone,

Lovely poem Quillion, does make you stop and think sometimes at how a few minutes of our time can affect someone without us realising it.

Really need to sort out some dough to make rolls for the weekend. I have been doing meal planning which although isn't going quite to plan, has helped lots. This will hopefully really help when the job situation is resolved and I am looking for another job and not earning.
