How did you choose a date?

Well! I chose the date, the only terms that my fiance had were that it couldn't be in June 2010 because that's when the world cup is and we didn't want to risk our wedding being on the same day as a major England game!

So I don't like odd numbers apart from 1, 5, 15, 21 and 25. Yes I know I'm very strange but luckily my fiance is very understanding. He even propose to me on an even day so I wouldn't think it was bad luck!

So, I wanted to get married in the summer so seeing as we couldn't have June, that left May and August (Can't have July because it's the 7th Month!)

So basically I wrote down all the Fridays and Saturdays that were good numbers and then phoned both the venues (for wedding and reception) and the only date that they both had available was Friday 21st May.

    The End x

    uh-oh ...june 2010 eh....b****r

  • We decided do it on a Friday as very often it's cheaper. I then looked at all the Fridays in the spring/summer that fell in school holidays which narrowed it down and then went with the date the venue was available.

We got married in Cheshire in 1975 on a cold but sunny November day. We are still in love:heartsmil so must have picked the right day.

I picked the day as soon as the Division 1 (the former Premier League) fixtures were out. As my beloved Tottenham play their home fixtures in London, that gave me 21 dates to choose from, in addition to the other London fixtures and games that were not in the north west. We therefore had lots of dates to choose.

The day was only spoilt when we arrived at the hotel just in time to see Liverpool FC:mad::mad: leave. They did wish us luck, which is far more than I did under my breath to them:rotfl:

Well, we fell in love with a very popular venue for the ceremony, so our choice was driven by when it was available. Our date was the first Saturday afternoon it was available that was around summer-time (booking 18 months in advance!) We also figured that having the wedding in September we might get good weather (the same weekend last year was glorious), but if we don't then we wouldn't be as put out as if we'd chosen July and got bad weather ;)

And 19/09/09 is also nice and easy for OH to remember!!

we originally picked the 26th of june this year but had a massive falling out and didnt really get anything arranged, then we decided to do it for next year same date but our venue was already booked on that date. We looked at their other dates and spotted "20% off during december january and febuary" that's the ticket lol so 26th Feb 2010 :D

    Hi

OH proposed June 2008. We orginally were going to wait until 2012 (going back to uni this year and so it would be after this) but after chatting to family and friends we realised we couldn't wait that long!

Viewed a venue the day after our engagement party in July and loved it. We wanted it to be summertime 2009. It couldn't be the beginning of summer due to a big family holiday (my parents are teachers) The venue didn't have the last saturday of august available so we chose the first one in september. Mum and dad will still have the week before off and the weather should still be good hopefully.

I would have loved 9/9/9 not just because of the numbers but also because it will be excatly 9 years since me and OH met! But it's a Wednesday which wouldn't have been praticial.

    So excited now!
    xx

we got married on Good friday because the venue didn't charge us and exclusive use fee for friday, also had lots of relatives coming over 300 miles so meant they could stay down for easter weekend if they wanted rather than rush down for saturday and dash back on sunday. It also meant I had 2 bank holidays in the time I ws off that I didn't have to take as annual leave. It also fell across 2 months flexi leave calendar meaning I could take 4 days flexi holidays! All lovely romantic reasons aren't they! who'd guess we were both capricorns!:rotfl:

We got engaged on 23rd June on holiday in Greece and wanted to be engaged for a year.

We were married on 22nd June the following year. We quite like the date of the 22nd becasue of the two twos together!!

We were 21 and so in love, we will be celebrating our 20th anniversary soon.

I'm getting married the same date and for the same reasons - where are you getting married?
