How did you choose a date?

Hi Everyone!

My Fiance and I are due to get married next year, and I was just wondering how you chose your wedding date? We'd like to get married on our anniversary, but we'd also like to go to Cuba for our honeymoon - and our anniversary is during their hurricane season!

How did you pick your date??

We wanted to get married on the date we started dating but its a thursday in 2011 so we're settling for 2 days later

Cuba, lucky you. We were there just before Christmas 2008. Playa Pesquaro. Beautiful. We chose our date by the size of my stomach, literally!! I was 5 months pregnant and we had the last date in the registra's diary!

i wanted our anniversary date but it didnt work out so im having 28th may 2011, we have been together 8 years an 12 days then lol plus its bank holiday weekend which was better than weekend before

our will be the day after our 3rd anniversary. Unfortunatly this mean most exotic destinations are out due to hurricane, but getting the date written down was more important than going for when thiland is in holiday season.

you don't have to have a special dte cos whatever you use will become special

We knew that wanted April/May time and we got a list of available dates from the band we wanted and found a venue with one of those dates available! We decided in Jan to get married in 2010 so by the time we got to the venue we liked they had no Saturdays left in May or June so we booked it for 24th April as the was one of the bands available dates! Sad I know, working it around the band, but it was the only thing I didn't want to compromise on as they are so good! May would have been nice as it's our anniversary but I'm just happy to be marrying him! (puke!!!! lol!).

we wanted ours on our 4 year anniversary, however, June 28th in 2010 is a monday, so we opted for Saturday 26th instead

We wanted Halloween 2010 but as that would be a Sunday we decided the 30th would be just as good, and we can give the trick pr treaters some wedding cake

We got married on 5 November as it was the day I proposed. It fell on a Wednesday which we didn't mind as got a fabulous deal with our venue as it was mid week. We do have 2 anniversaries though now!

We got married on 30th may 2008, we picked the date as it was half term so my son and other kids did nto have to take time off school.

while looking through old diaries from years back i noticed that my hubby and i met on the 30th may 2000.
how weird is that !

Well! I chose the date, the only terms that my fiance had were that it couldn't be in June 2010 because that's when the world cup is and we didn't want to risk our wedding being on the same day as a major England game!

So I don't like odd numbers apart from 1, 5, 15, 21 and 25. Yes I know I'm very strange but luckily my fiance is very understanding. He even propose to me on an even day so I wouldn't think it was bad luck!

So, I wanted to get married in the summer so seeing as we couldn't have June, that left May and August (Can't have July because it's the 7th Month!)

So basically I wrote down all the Fridays and Saturdays that were good numbers and then phoned both the venues (for wedding and reception) and the only date that they both had available was Friday 21st May.
