Anybody know how this works?

As a non frequent Northern visitor, can you just avoid paying or will the powers that be come after you?

    just go onto the website eflow.ie and pay. You must pay for the journey by 8pm the following day.

    i've passed through it four times now and each time phoned to pay, and no record was found of my number plate... so i didn't complain!

    Sorry am I reading this wrong but how can Car tax in NI pay for a Southern Ireland toll?

    Yes, you're reading it the wrong way. The issue is not just about the M50 or a N.Ireland/Republic issue, it's a British Isles/Europe wide problem.

    shouldn't our car tax be sufficient?

    M50 was built by a private company, that's why it has to be paid by a toll
