HELP PLEASE! How Can I Stop My Cat From Ripping Wallpaper?
Comments
-
Product called Scratch no More from Kleeneze stopped our inherited cat in its tracks, it was literally wrecking the house. Or any spray with citrus in it helps alsomake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
im have 2 options for you
1) mittens this will save your wallpaper but may not save your arms whhen your trying to put them on
2) get a scratching post he wants something to test its strength and prowess on
Just some thoughts:
1/ Agree with the previous posters - scratching posts are absolutely essential for anyone who owns cats. Cats will always scratch, so you need to divert them onto these. www.Zooplus.co.uk have always had a good and long lasting range, and there are lots of discount codes on the web too.
2/ If they are scratching by the litter, then they may just be trying to cover up after themsevles and bury what they have done. Try putting some more litter in the pan, or buying a litter tray with a lid. If that doesn't work, you may have to think about moving the tray, I'm afraid.
3/ If they are scratching elsewhere in the house, then put the new post next to the area where they scratch, and if you catch them scratching in the old place then move them gently to the post to give them a hint. No point in shouting, they'll scratch more out of stress.
4/ Sticky paws is a god-send if they really really don't want to move, works a treat. http://www.petplanet.co.uk/search_adv.asp?sp=sticky%20paws
Hope this is of some help,

yep...ours tear into their posts like mad, usually when we come back with visitors just to show the "raah..I'm hard, I am". Hex occasionally tries the sofa, but I flick his ear and he stops.
Fudge tends to scrag the big thick rug in the kitchen - I don't care if he kills that. Mother-in-law has shelves covered in sisal for the cats to run up, and a drainpipe bracketed to the wall covered as well for them to scale up. Works well.0 -
Cats don't like spearmint or peppermint.
If you can get hold of peppermint oil, dilute it with water and spray around the skirting boards.
Not sure what would happen to your wallpaper if you sprayed it on that.more dollar$ than sense0
