If she's been paying all year and been paying over 10 months she might have already paid it all...
Useful point Poppysarah but as the council tax year runs from 1st April that would only cover the period up to & including 31st March.

You were not correcting anyone - you were being corrected.

No I wasn't. But thanks for your interest.

Your two statements are quite clear

You were implying that your friend should not be liable as they were paying CT at another address - thats incorrect

You were also implying that you could not live at two addresses and pay CT at both - thats also incorrect

So which bit are you saying you are correct about

I wasn't implying anything. You seem to be the one making assumptions. I was stating that she wasn't living at two addresses.

quote "Interesting. What about the other council tax bill bearing her name at her new address? She can't live in two places."

You did state she cannot live in two places - then corrected yourself (after being corrected) to say she does not live in both places.

And what else can the - what about the other council tax bill ... sentence be construed as?

It is clear you felt that she should not be responsible for the one she was not living in. Otherwise you would have not asked that question.

You are typical of the people who come on here - ask a question - do not get the answer they want to hear and do not like it.

Everyone is answering along the same lines - BUT the best thing to do is explain the situation to the Local Authority of the property she has left and see if there is some leverage.

That is the CORRECT thing to do!

'She' can't meaning her specifically. That would be because I know and you don't. I wasn't talking generally though you appear to have taken that particular bone and run with it. What on earth indicated that I don't like the answer to the question?

You seem to enjoy points scoring and talking down to people-that's another unpleasant minority group of people that use this website.

Interesting. What about the other council tax bill bearing her name at her new address?

Her specifically - what did you mean by this question?

Everyone and his dog has given you the same or similar advice including me.

I meant that she in this particular instance is not living in more than one place. Though I accept that this is entirely possible in cases where people have holiday/weekend homes.

I've got the answers I wanted and that's what I've told her.
