I have posted this on the e7even thread but thought maybe it might br more appropriate over here.
Can anyone help me? Accroding to my internet connection I am supposed to be back on broadband, although I am currently on dial-up as when I try to connect through broadband the pages do not load. The icons do not flash very often. The internet gateway has received 102 packets and sent 98 packets, while my computer has sent 197,898 packets and received 159,782 packets.
Does this make sense to anyone and how can I get back on broadband?

to be honest thats a bit of a vague explanation/description.... who is your broadband service provider with? is it a wired or wireless connection??? - if wired, does your modem connect into a USB port or a Network card???
Try re-connecting your broadband set up and turn off your dial-up... when you do so, go to the start menu, select the run option and type CMD and press enter
This will bring you to a dos prompt
then type ipconfig
and you'll get a load of numbers back (sorry if i'm teaching you to suck eggs).... in that you should see an IP Address, which should be something like 65.45.124.43
if you get that, then your broadband is configured correctly, but you're having problems seeing internet pages for some reasons......
that should get you some way along the track, get back to us and let us know if this gets you anywhere......0 -
E7even's broadband service is virtually non-existant how these cowboys keep trading is a miracle:
E7even statement
If you're expecting broadband from the most complained about ISP in the UK forget it. Cancel, flee, migrate from this shower ASAP, if you can!
Try to migrate? Forget it!
The UK's most complained about ISP!
If you still have a sense of humour after reading all that:

THANKS for your help! I seen the IP address but when I try to open a page I am told I need to go online. What am I doing wrong or how do I rectify this problem?0 -
jo, that might be relatively straight forward to correct... click connect - that should let you browse straight away if your truly connected via broadband....
also check under the File menu that "Work Offline" isnt ticked, if it is - deselect it....
If that doesnt work, you'll need to change connection settings, do that via Tools>Internet Options>Connections
Select " Dial whenever a network connection is not present"
Click Apply, OK, close your browser, and re-open it - and see how you get on!0 -

I tried clicking connect but I do not get connected, it says the computer you are dialling is not responding!0 -

Try this if you have not already done so,
Go to https://www.e7broadband.com/support/modem.html
Enter your OS and select your modem, there should be an ip address listed, try typing this into the address bar of internet explorer.
You might want to get hold of "Intel" on this site, that boy is a wiz!!
And word on the street is that his ip address changes frequently!!:)You're Damned If You Do & You're Damned If You Don't.0 -
