o2 200 contract but not getting correct text amount
I have a 2 x D500 on an o2 contract through Phones4u which was take out 6 months ago. I have now realised that instead of getting 200 xnet minutes and 100 texts per month (this was doubled for the first 3 months) we are only getting 200 xnet minuts and 50 texts. I have just checked on phones4u site adn their o2 200 contract states that you should ge the 100 texts.
Do i have to contact o2 or Phones4u to correct this?
Also as some months we have gone over the text allowance and had an extra £7 or so on top of the £30 monthly contract amount would i be in my rights to ask for a refund of this as if we were getting the correct amount of texts we wouldnt have got the charge?
Would just like to add that Phones4u have been great with the £180 cashback per phone and sent it no problems.

Double check that you were supposed to get 100 txts in the first place. It wasnt that long ago that you'd only get 50 txts (obviously doubled for 3 months) and they changed it to 100.0

6 months ago it was 200mins and 50 txt - you need to speak to o2 to get it set to 100. Think we only started the 100 text about 3 months ago if I remember correctly.0 -
Thanks for your help. Ive just checked me emails fron last July where i sent them a question to confirm the contract length as it wasnt made clear and also confirming the 200 mins and 50 texts. So it was just 50 at the time.
As the o2 200 contract is now 100 texts is there any possibility then of getting them increased at no extra charge?
I remember hearing from somewhere that even though the phone is with o2, i purchased it from Phones4u and they bulk purchase minutes and texts from o2. So if i were to try and get 100 texts would i contact o2 or Phones4u?0 -
Phones 4 U no longer have their own billing company and all connections for O2 are direct with the operator.
If you contact o2 customer service they should arrange for the tariff to be changed from 50 to 100 texts but it will only take effect from your next billing date after you call.

Get in touch with o2 customer services - either that or go into a phones4u shop and we'd buy you out of your contract and start you on a new one

The phones 4 u shop you go into - if the sales person (or their manager) had half a brain they'd realise you are only 4 months away from finishing your contract and might possibly be interested in a new deal. Depending on the new deal you took and the margins involved they'd be willing pay cash in order to buy part of/all of your contract out for you. This means ending your contract early by paying the line rental x months left (£48 on for 3 months on the o2 £16 tariff as you pay 1 month in advance there is no need to pay for 4 months). That way you benefit by having a new phone earlier and they benefit from having a extra sale - I get no benefit/commission from advising you to do this unless you happened to buy it off me/my store

Jarlawuk, thanks for that its interesting to know. I forgot to mention at the beginning though that i got my phone from Phones4u online. At the time of getting the 2x D500 they were the phones we definately wanted and it was a case of getting the best deal etc. I found the Phones4u online offer of £30 per month on o2 200, 12 month contract and the first 6 months free rental via cashback at month 6 which i have recently received. I did go into my local Phones4u store to see of they could match this so then i wouldnt have to wait for delivery and could have the phone there and then. I spoke to a girl who took my details etc and i was in there for a good half hour or so. She spoke to her manager though and they just couldnt match it. What they could offer didnt come anywhere near to the online deal.
I have to say i do not understand how something like that happens, wether it be a phone contract or an item for sale in a store. Surely if the same company has an online version they are all the same and should be able to match.0 -

Thanks to the help and info from everyone here ive now got the 100 texts. Im well pleased. It was no problem at all. I phoned o2 up and said about only getting 50 texts but the o2 200 was now 100 texts and he said he would get it sorted so that i get 100. He said it would be effective from my next billing cycle which luckily is just 5 days time. Thankyou. :j0
