Well, i really need to get off the web and get on with some housework! Ive been researching the spitfire plane for Joe as i remember my dad telling me someone down the line in our family designed it, he was telling the truth!! Joseph Mitchell was Joes great nans, great, great uncle if you can follow that, and ive probily missed out or put in one to many greats in there. Ive had fun talking to Joe about it and finding the information. The web is amazing, you can just pull so much info in minutes. Its nice for Joe to have some family history even if it does go back to the 1920's! And amazing that years down the line the name Joseph is still being used in the family - Joe got his name from my dads middle name :rotfl:

Anyways, today i really need a list and if i post it on here i have more chance of it being done!

    1 - Washing - at least 3 loads
2 - Kitchen, wipe down all sides and doors / sweep and mop
3 - Living room - dust / wipe down sofas / hover / put away any junk
4 - Change bedding and get it all washed
5 - Make something sweet and decide on dinner
6 - Get swimming bits ready for tomorrow and Joes camera
7 - Just sort the flat out really!

Fri : Something on Toast Night

    Sat : L – Sarnies or Soup & Roll
D – Pork Ribs & Eggie Fried Veggie Rice

So it looks like i need to do a bit of home baking - bread / snacky things and of course sort my own luches! Ive still got a couple of value part baked bagettes that i can use, might need to pick up some more cheese today for mac cheese but then can use it towards my lunches and maybe some tuna for a change. In fact im going to pop to Lidls with the last £5 in my purse, need milk anyway.

Thanks to the old style gods, ive been using up the last of the veg from the market last week. So far ive made a potato & corgette bake and 2 smaller ones to have as a side - used up some leeks & onions. Also had a cheesy pasta bake with more corgettes and using the last of the cream cheese.

Ive just found a recipe for jammy breakfast bars that im going to try - both breakie and lunch treats.

Oh and ive made 15 breakfast muffins using the egg, ham and a bit of cheese.

Been quite busy in the kitchen, just a shame ive now gotta wash up :rotfl:

The washing up is always the killer.

I've read your diary today and you're amazing. Joe is a very lucky little boy to have such a wonderful mum. I know how tough it can be and you may feel it's two steps forwards and three steps back somedays, but you're doing a great job.

My son was the same and still has his moments but I wouldn't swap him for the world. He couldn't cope without boundaries, if there weren't rules and timetables he'd flip out. We use to have to pick him up from his school, aged 4, nappies in his rucksack because he'd been bad again. He was in a class of 10, 2 teachers, all with statements of needs...but they couldn't cope.

(He now loves the menus on the fridge by the way - structure - but God help me if I want to swap a day, I need to fill out a form!)

You've got a non coping teacher and a coping head. Next year you may get someone he takes to and activities like the Beavers are wonderful (mine was drummed out of Tumble Tots - the shame :o).

Just wanted you to know that there is light and they are so worth it. On the bad days though we all forget the good and kids like Joe are never allowed to have just a pants day because we're always watching for the next meltdown.

Keep going and be very very proud of how far you've already come.

PS A neighbour with a severly disabled child said to me that special children are only born to those with the inner strength to rise to the challenge. I think she was right.:A

    Well morning all,

There was so much thunder her last night, woke both me a Joe up - heard him telling the thunder to shut up as it was late :rotfl:

The jammy breakfast bars didnt do to well, anything flapjacky kinda just crumbles on me when i go to cut it! So we had it with custard last night :o No wonder im not losing any weight, even though im running again

Have already been out up to biggin hill to take pics of the hurricane and spitfire planes, we then had a look at the planes on the airfield, not to sure id like to go up in something that small though. So after we have been swimming we are going to go to Mr T's to print them out for his project.

Joes tutor will be here soon too, plan is after she has been we are going to go swimming, then Mr T's as i do need some bits like washing up liquid oh and cat food & litter. Going to use my £10 vouchers as i really cant be using the little cash i have. Need to hopfully get a few bits for my lunches too.

Oh and i did all the daily comps yesterday too :) Fingers crossed, id be happy with a mars football though - just want to win something!

    Well morning all,

Im at work - didnt get in early, will try harder tomorrow.

But ive bought lunch in, cheese sarnie and a chicken one. Bought some grapes for a £1 this morning, should give me something to munch on while im at work for the next 2 days or so.

Went swimming yesterday and was knackered after! Had a nice afternoon doze with Joe - which is rare! Was lovely for him to fall asleep snuggling into me :)

Hope everyone is having a good start to the week

    Morning All,

Well talk about feeling guilty! Yesterday my dad went out to tescos and bought ham, cornbeef, couple of ready meals, and bread for the week. So ive not bought in any food today as there is stuff already here.

Joes happy as anything at the moment, hes got a school trip today to the library, and is allowed to go because of his change of behavour, i just really hope he can keep it up. Little blips in the day i can handle, just not all day every day.

Money sides things are really tight, but thats no real problem, just got to make the most what what we have i suppose. Need to put the breadmaker on tonight.

    Hope everyone is good.

    Rant Elert!!!!

Just spoken to the childminder, Joe has recieved 3 slips today, and to be honest im quite angry with Joe. It is obvious that he choses when he wants to behave. I have tried to talk to the school but they are all in meetings so ive deciced that he is not going on the school trip tomorrow as punishment - he would have a 1/2 day in school exclusion anyway.
As i cant get to talk to the school i have no idea if this is too harsh or not, but either way it is too late now and ive told the receptionist at school he is not to go and that i will send a letter in tomorrow to confirm this.
I dont expect Joe to be very happy with me but then again im not very happy with his choice to not behave today.

God i hate being so harsh! But if he doesnt behave tomorrow then he will be missing Beavers too.

Angie - time for deep breathing and tea.

The positive is that Joe can behave and you know that one day that will be the norm for him. The negative is that he can't or doesn't choose to do that at present.

Sometimes kids like Joe and Small Boy simply can't deal with the tidial waves of emotions they experience. These feelings, which other kids deal with pretty easily, seem to hit them broadside and the result is often over the top levels of inappropriate behaviour. As they grow older and begin to mature these feelings become less foreign as they've dealt with them before and they know they're not the end of the world.

You're providing a strong, consistent, loving home for Joe. He's pushing boundaries which all kids do, firstly to see what is and isn't acceptable, secondly to test what you'll do when he crosses those boundaries and thirdly to gain comfort that the same consistent thing will happen in each event.

So when you say do this and that will happen really does help him if you do that each and every time. Mixed messages don't help him so stick to your guns. If he gets 3 slips and that means no Beavers then do that. He may even do it a second or third week to see who'll give in first. Once he sees you won't budge (no yelling or shouting - just 3 slips Joe, you know that means no Beavers) then you'll see him come round. The fact he loves it is a huge incentive for him to adhere to the rules, as long as the rules are never so tough he has no hoping of winning the prize.

Sorry it's long. But having been there I hope it's of some help. You're a star Angie...keep going.
