ianonline wrote:Yep - given that any Tom, !!!!!! or Harry can download the lists from the Ofcom website, there's no excuse why a telecoms provider shouldn't be aware of a "new" prefix. If anything, you'd think they would find out even before the information is in the public domain and there would be appropriate channels for the different telecoms providers to communicate with one another.
Not a very good advert if they can't even manage to communicate amongst themselves :wall:
As I said, it's happened before and Vodafone seem to be the worst with it - I think maybe they programme their equipment once they start getting the complaints rather than pro-actively. :rolleyes:0 -
i had this problem as well.
tried ringing the virgin sim from my landline- worked
tried ringing it from my t-mobile sim- worked
tried ringing it from my voda sim- 'number not in use'
yet my virgin sim can ring my voda sim.
spoke to virgin, they said if the sim can dial out, but won't receive from another number, it is a problem with the other number, spoke to voda and have got a new sim (haven't tested it yet)things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back thenMercilessKiller wrote: »BH is my best mate too, its ok

As you can see from my above post, "Ms DONO" confirmed she had spoken to their (Vodafone) technical dept who confirmed that it is the Vodafone NETWORK that doesn't recognise the Virgin 07804 prefix.
Incidently, BH, is your Virgin sim also a 07804 number or is it something different? (presumably the same problem is likely to apply to other prefixes registered at the same time).0 -

i tested the sim last night, it made no difference, so i spoke to voda customer services.
they haven't been recognising the 07804 prefix but after a few minutes searching they found it IS a recognised dialling code, and it IS owned and was registered by t-mobile (which explains why virgin should have it).
the guy i spoke to said he had put an update on the system so that it would recognise 07804 within 24 hours (which would work out at sometime tonight), i am going to test my voda sim calling my virgin sim (07804 prefix) on monday, it should work by then, if it doesn't i will ring voda back.things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back thenMercilessKiller wrote: »BH is my best mate too, its ok
