Hi - not sure I am in the right area, but am looking on how I can ring my brother in Moscow on his mobile for a cheaper price. My current provider is charging .7p per minute and after having an urgent phone call to give him a ring on his mobile, was on the phone for 1 hour and 20 mins = total cost of phone call around £5.60.
I dont begrudge paying this as my brother needed to speak to me, but I think this might become a regular thing so really need to find out how to speak to him on a regular basis for the least amount of cost.
Many thanks for any help you can give

For you to call him from the UK, you could always use Skype which is free to another PC or a few p/min for calls overseas.
(if you have unlimited data usage on your mobile you could access Skype from your mobile too)
Or from a landline you could try http://www.alphatelecom.com/uk/ratefinder.aspx
For him to receive calls there, you could try http://www.lebara-mobile.co.uk/en/ or several other travel sims available, just google 'travel sim'.
Hope that helps.0 -
Er, 0.7p per min to call Russia already sounds v. cheap! Or is it just me?

Are you calling a UK Mobile roaming in Russia or a Russian Mobile? Are you calling from a mobile or a landline? Do you have inclusive minutes?
Have you checked out.

We call Russia often. We use http://call18866.co.uk/index2.php and they charge 5p per minute to a cell phone and 2p a minute to a Land line. Quality is fine - unlike many other providers.0

Many thanks for all your responses. I have looked at them all, and find it very confusing (I'm not the brighest star in the sky when it comes to technology!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ), but think I will try skype as it's free. Mind you, not sure what I have to do so maybe be on the techie site soon getting advice.
Many thanks for all your responses and the links given - I very much appreciate you taking the time to post. When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:0 -
Think that was 7p per min rather than 0.7p... I use 18185 which works out at around 1.5p per min. Very straightforward and very decent connection:0

Actually, it wasn't 7p pm, but 70p pm:eek:   . That phone call cost me £54.63:mad: . My brother hasn't got broadband at the moment so skype isn't a possibility just yet - will look again at the other option as well as 18185 and see which is the cheapest and the least complicated. When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling.
