Ring Tone Delay b4 Voicemail

My new PDA phone has a delay of about 2 rings from the caller before my handset starts ringing, which gives me no time to answer the call.

Apparently you can change the amount of time to a max of 30 seconds by doing the following: (but does not work on my phone any ideas)

OK, according to howardforums

To extend your ring tone, dial the following code:
** 61* your prefix, then your number then ** 30# and send.

E.g. **61*07958 1234567**30#

Should be able to extend your ring tone for 5, 10, 20 and 30 seconds. The last number in the code above dictates ring time. In the example above, 30 seconds was used.

Any help would be appreciated.

  • I believe that the format should be:

    **61*<number to divert to>**<seconds before divert>#

    See http://martinri.freeshell.org/gsm-access-codes.html for more details.

This is a network feature, so is independant of the handset. You just need your network to support it.
