I agree - humiliation can be a powerful motivator - however much it hurts at the time, it can, on reflection, sometimes help. Not all the time, but occasionally a short, sharp shock can change a mindset.
And on a more random note........I might change my hair colour....."Stay Wonky":D

Ooh, cool, what colour? I'm sticking with the red for the time being, I think.
Edit: Ooh, just remembered a really good poem in one of my many books. Basically it's about how a poem written in first person got the author in trouble. It's got a repeated line about how 'I' isn't necessarily 'Me'. Lol.Not an expert, but I try and contribute and I'll always listen. Middle child of middle child parents. I drink way too much coffee.

not sure..........I'm kind of thinking copper/chocolate/caramel kind of idea which is quite muted in comparison to my red but I fancy a change.....my roots are getting a bit bad and the redness feels a bit orangey and the colour looked awful on the Manchester meet photos. I might be getting it cut for free at work so might ask for a colour appointment straight after, but if not (I'm waiting to hear), I'll ask the hairdressing tutor who is the best learner and book with them for a cut and blow dry and colour, should cost me around £10 or so. The learner who usually cuts and colours has broken her leg and I would like it cutting before I go on holiday as it's getting a bit raggedy scarecrow.

Thank you for the nice comments,
Sammy - Kinda, it's an almagamation (sp?) of what I was saying a couple of days ago about humiliation being a powerful motivator, plus my belief that being depressed can be dangerous if you just stagnate.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not bad at the moment, but I feel kinda stuck at the moment and it gets me down, but there is nothing more I can do more than I'm doing to change the situation. So yeah, kinda frustated. Poetry and drawing help me get rid of my frustration.
Nicely put Ruby......... depression can be dangerous if you stagnate.

Yum, caramel coloured! I love that, I'm thinking that when I do get my hair done again, it will be a nice warm honey colour. Not an expert, but I try and contribute and I'll always listen. Middle child of middle child parents. I drink way too much coffee.

Yep, that is the first and foremost reason I walked out. I realised that I was depressed again, less than 6 months after the last time, so I decided to change things drastically. I've suffered with depression on and off since I was 17. Quitting the alcohol, even just for Lent is a big step for me. Decided though that I will only drink on special occasions even after Lent. As I said, humilation is a powerful motivator, I humiliated myself at home after the wedding reception. Not an expert, but I try and contribute and I'll always listen. I have upset him and it was not intentional and I know he feels that all my friends rallied around and shut him out.
THis is that last I am going to say on the subject but I never meant to hurt my friend. I don't want him to stay away so I shall bow out of the equation.
Once again, I am sorry, and I am sorry if I upset anyone else.
Awww...big hugs for you both. Well - manly back patting in Len's case - but you know what I mean...

Didn't get back home until 9pm because the M6 was at a standstill.
