Misguided Sympathy

Don’t shed a tear for me
tears can’t buy me dinner.
They won’t keep me warm,
they can’t make me safe.

Don’t cry for me because I’m crying,
my feelings are my own,
they’re mine, all I have.
Don’t take them away from me.

Don’t weep for me, I’m fine.
I can get through this on my own.

but I am.
Alone and strong, tired and tough,
stumbling through to a brighter day,
with blood shot eyes and wet cheeks.

Don’t cry, laugh.
Laugh at me, make me seethe,
drag me up from my pit with ridicule.
Carry myself with rage,
make me angry, make me move.

Don’t sit with me and shed a tear,
because we are both just rotting here.

First draft, I will work on it again tomorrow, clean it up and tighten it. But I'm just glad I've written something!

oooh, I've had a facebook invite to a 40th for someone I went to Uni. with. He is very, very posh and hob nobs with all the gentry set (you should see some of his FB dinner party pics with triple barrelled named friends!!) and is going to hire a pub in West Kensington (the whole pub for just him and his friends!!!!) and put loads of money behind the bar........it would be so tempting to go ust for the poshness of it, although I think i'd be sent around to the servants entrance :rotfl:

Thank you for the nice comments,

Sammy - Kinda, it's an almagamation (sp?) of what I was saying a couple of days ago about humiliation being a powerful motivator, plus my belief that being depressed can be dangerous if you just stagnate.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not bad at the moment, but I feel kinda stuck at the moment and it gets me down, but there is nothing more I can do more than I'm doing to change the situation. So yeah, kinda frustated. Poetry and drawing help me get rid of my frustration.
