Have phone want new contract

For 14 months, I have had a mobile phone, Nokia 6230 on contract with Vodafone. Its time I take this site's advice and get a cheaper deal. I like the handset, so I don't want a new one. I like the number and want to keep it. I want to pay less for my contract only. Looking at oneCompare seems to lead me to deals that have phones attached, and no obvious means of keeping my number. Any ideas on how I should carry on?
Many thanks,

o2 and vodafone both do sim only deals on their websites, that have double minutes and thousands of text messages, and no 12 month contracts attached to them, though with the vodafone version at least you can't upgrade to it. I tried.

They offered me £2 off a month instead. umm let me see...£30 for 400 mins and 1000 texts or £28 for 200 mins. As you can imagine I didn't take them up on that offer!

But if you don't mind changing your number might be worth a look

anyway here's the link for vodafone. You'll have to find the o2 one yourself, I should be working!

  • Why not get your PAC code from your current network (just call them and as for it - this will let you move your number onto a new contract) find a new deal that suits and includes a new phone, give them you're pac code so you've got a great new contract that has your old number, and flog the new phone on ebay = save even more money!
