Upgrade Offer From Three, What Do You Think?
Three have offered this upgrade what do you think? is it worth ddoing this rather than the hassle of getting cashback?
3 months half price £17.50
Then at month 6 they credit your account, (not bank account) with £105 so that in effect covers for 3 months free
This is tariff vtt 700 originally £35 per month
and they gave a choice of 3 different handsets
nokia 6280
sony k608i
all in all it works out at 4 1/2 months free line rental on a 12 month contract
What I'm bothered about is I don't have it in writing so what if they mess around when it gets to month 7 8 and 9?

I accepted a similar (maybe better) offer last autumn and they have been true to their word.
Have you asked for a PAC number? That is when they make thier best offers.

yes i had the pack sent to me almost a month ago now it runs out on 24th midnight.
What did they offer you? as I could ring back again and say a frirend had recieved that upgrade if its better. I was going to go through someone with cashback but it seems less hassle and I'd keep my number too. Some of the offers with cashback are perhaps 6 months half price from reputable places but they are with 18 month contracts not 12 which this one is so it might be worth it.
How long did it take your new handset to come and did you have to return the pld one?Thanx

I'll have to check the paperwork (they confirmed it in writing) tomorrow.
I think it was 18 months for around £180.
New phone came in 2 days and I kept the old one.

Well I suppose it depends what tariff you are on but over 12 months this £35 per month one would be £420 without offer.
With 3 months half price and the £105.00 credit at month 6 that takes £157.50 off making it £262.50.
They arent doing many offers apart from the vtt ones at the mo but looks like you got a lot better offer than me and for 18 months aswell, this is only 12, which tarrif is yours at?
thanxThanx

Wait till 1st March then with the T-mobile tariffs in front of you - ring up 3g and see if they can offer you anything better

Yeah I know about that, and one of the stores told me the flext are coming out into the shops on 1st march too but the contract runs out on 24th and I didn't really want to carry it on to another non contractual month with 3. Not sure how that would work out for getting deals
T mob also charge for itemised billing and dont give correct mins and texts left over... had problems with them before but I do know they will prob be some competition for 3g with the flext tarrifsThanx

You could get yourself a PAC code now - its valid for 30 days and you are not obliged to use it if you don't want to. However, if you do decide to use it then you will only be billed up to when the PAC code is transfered over to the new provider. E.g. you sign up on Vodafone on 1st March - number ports over on the 8th March, you will be billed by 3g up till 8th march. If I remember correctly you pay 1 month in advance with 3g anyway so you'll have paid for your bill and should get some line rental back (pro rata).0 -
I got a smiliar offering as the OP.
I ended up with 12 months averaging £18 a month for a 6280 on the 500 mins, 100 texts tarrif.
I got them to post me confirmation of the cashbacks which they eventually did!

Thanx went for the upgrade afterall, did think about waiting but the t mob ones are going to be 18 month ones anyway. This will do for now anyway, it averages out at almost £21 a month for 400 mins 250 texts 25 video mins 25 pic or vid messages and £5 of dl content per month and a Nokia 6280
How do you find the Nokia 6280 morpheus?Thanx

Not bad at all Lady_K.
Loads of features and good connectivity. The slider is a tiny bit loose but all slider phones are like that - the nature of the beast!!!!
Battery life isn't anything amazing either, but then what do you expect from a phone with a huge colour screen, camera with flash and wicked video recording function?!?!?
Also, you can rip tv onto the mini-sd and watch TV on your phone in landscape mode. I have a sample clip of a Lost episode on mine and it looks amazing!!!
Enjoy!
