Your going to need a bootable XP disc.
Boot from that and run FIXBOOT and then immediately "CHKDSK -R" (without the quotes).
The drive is on the way out. Back up your data.0 -
It looks he doesn't have the discs.

I have used XP Pro discs on Home computers for this. It's just a bootable disc that will read your hard drive.0
