Why is JPA so confusing? And am I the only person that thinks like this?!
My geezer is just about to leave the UK to be posted in Germany and I get headaches just trying to read the allowances manual. This is all very new to me and was hoping that there was a very very very simple way for me to understand...Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0 -
I think perhaps not as it is classed as a mid tour move. If you move from a your own house to a SFA for service reasons then you would be entitled. If you are moving as a result of a posting and the SFA is over 50 miles from your current house then maybe. But it is a complex subject. As well as completing the online application on JPA, you should approach your HR who will give you a form to complete, as it is more thorough and asks more directed questions. WHen you submit your application on JPA it will get workflowed to someone in HR to approve who SHOULD get you in to complete this form. Good luck.. JPA is all about interpretation (no matter how the writers of JPA try and write it), if you read it one way and the person who authorises anything reads it another then your out of luck basically!99.9% of my posts include sarcasm!Touch my bum :money:Tesco - £1000 , Carpet - £20, Barclaycard - £50, HSBC - £50 + Car - £1700SAVED =£0Debts - £28500

Believe we are covered, but you will have to refer to the JSP 754 at the time. This thing can change, and will be the backbone of your claim.
Dont take hear-say or advice from people who think they know. Ensure you have read it yourself, then if the claim is reversed and the £1600~£1800 is attempted to be taken back, you know where you are and can point it out.
I believe that, married, own house with 2 kids is knocking on for £1800 ish for DA, when someone moving from SLA to SLA is £86.
Good luck.
Wow you'll be lucky to get that much we moved from our own property to another own property last year on posting. We have 3 kids and only got around £1100.Debtfree JUNE 2008 - Thank you MSE:T0 -
You will not be entitled to removals, so if you get the money Im sure most of it will be needed for van hire etc.0

Yes, you are correct. Unsure where i must of read that information from.
I can see, based on 2008's figures that it will be -
£1154 - Private Owned
£134 - Per child at school age.

We were only allowed to claim for one child as our other 2 were at boarding school and we couldn't claim for them as they weren't 'disturbed' although that is open to debate!:rotfl:Debtfree JUNE 2008 - Thank you MSE:T0
