Value of Antique Chairs?

I will have a look in the loft at some point and see what is left of the seats as a whole. I'd say 'not alot' but they have spent decade after decade just sitting in various lofts!
Thanks.0 -

If you find anything of the seats at all it may well be worth adding it to the 'lot' if talking to an auctioneer. I am always surprised at what state of disrepair things are in and still attract bids from people who want to spend time to undertake a careful restoration.
The actual fabric and stuffing is not important as that is the easiest bit to restore, but any of the frames and strapping would help get a better response bidding wise.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Sorry to put a downer, but I think you will find 1920's furniture such as this is not wortha great deal.
I would be surprised if you got more than £50 for the set at auction. Don't forget they will cost an upholsterer probably £50 a chair+ in time and materials to re upholster. If they have a sentimental value I would be inclined to have them restored and keep them in the family, after fees you will get very little at auction

Well at the moment I have no idea if it is 20's or not I'm afraid!
I will try and find out and also have a look for the original seats. They dont have any real sentimental value but having them restored is very tempting. I dont know how much of it I could do myself....0
