When we went the other year, many people in the Disney Hotels were making sandwiches etc from the extensive amount available at the breakfast buffet. Honestly, some were making more sandwiches than I could eat in a week! There was bread, ham, cheese, croissants, yoghurts, all sorts. They just made them and wrapped them up in paper napkins!

Enjoy - it's a magical place - even for a 36 year old like me!

  • hi,

just to repeat what poster above said - take a carrier bag in your handbag to breakfast wiv you and stock up for lunch!

There are rolls, cheese, meat etc there and tho disney says you shouldnt... many many people do!! (You wont see them cos most people are discreet - bag on floor, items slipped in etc!!) There isnt complimentary tea/coffee in the bedrooms so I feel taking a few bread rolls balances this up!! lol lol

Disney is absolutely wonderful btw, shame euro rate has now made it far more expensive!

Make sure you see the parades - esp the night time lit up ones! Tower of terror got long queues when we went in november - so worth going on that first thing in morning.

    Have a great time!

  • Thanks guys for the nice and helpful replies.

Yes a few people have said that to me before. So if I can get away with it I will!

Im the type of person to be like oh yes lets take the breakfast stuff, but not brave enough to slip it in my bag!

It is a buffet breakfast which means I can take as much as I can :)

They hardly loose money when a burger and chips is £12!

will your hotel have an ice machine?

you can have things in a coolbag with frozen ice cube bags rather than coolpacks, then top up with ice from the hotel ice machine to keep it cool if you're not sure of getting to a shop from your hotel. Then empty the ice cube bags before coming home and use the coolbag to carry the souvenirs in.

When we do things like this I take a kit as others have mentioned with knives and platic plates etc.
Ready sliced rolls (either bought sliced or sliced at home.
Then foods which keep are peanut butter, mattessons sausage (sold from fridge but if you read the pack it keeps out of the fridge. Just use it up in one go) Some processed cheese and cheese spread also doesn't need refridgerating (not what we normally eat but fine for trips like this). Also fruit, tomatoes etc will keep well if protected from squashing. I have taken tinned fish but it's a bit messy!
Drinkwise I carry a stainless steel flask of hot water and either sachets or a small pot of coffee powder or teabags. I don't use milk in drinks but we save the sachets/pots you get in hotels etc for DH to use.
Packs of biscuits/crackers/cereal bars can easily be divided up between the family. Or be very organised and make your own! I'm just not that organised (yet!)

    Have a lovely time.
