Me too!! :j
I cant wait to go!! Ive never been before but know people who are lucky enough to have been several times and go regularly!
From what everyone has told me, if you are staying in on of the Disney Hotels, or in fact any hotel near the Disney Parks, you basically make a packed lunch up at breakfast and EVERYONE does it!
Some of the hotels even provide little bags for taking it away in. We worked out that for us to go, it was cheaper to add on Half Board than it would have been to pay for lunches and evening meals for the 4 nights/5 days that we are going.
We are going to take little cool bags with us, so we can keep the kids lunches as fresh as possible during the day. You can make up some bread rolls, croissants, fruit etc and take it in your little cool bag - hey presto!! Lunch is already sorted! At no extra cost! :T
If you are going completely self catering, then its worth going to some of the shops/petrol stations just outside the disney parks for buying provisions as they are MUCH cheaper than the shops on site.
Buy things that will obviously keep well throughout the day and remember drinks and fruit or something sweet to keep your sugar levels up too!!Sometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying

I would definatley second making lunch from breakfast if you staying in the Disney hotels. It's all set out buffet style and you can go as many times as you like. When we went, we filled up at breakfast and took rolls filled with cheese and ham, muffins, fruit and other bits and bobs. Everyone does it!! I recommend the character breakfast - the food is amazing!!
Have fun

We have breakfast included in our package. Great Idea
I heard someone paid 45euros for lunch for 2 adults! Not bad for a dinner, but you dont want to eat too much for lunch anyway. Dont want to be sick on the rides lol:j This year is my year 2009 :j0 -
Where did you get your deal on the holiday from?
Are you staying in the park?
I promised my little sister I'd take her and her 3 sprogs on hols with my divorce pay out. Completely forgot how much it was gonna cost me to set up a new life and now the money is practically not there and what is there I'd like to keep hold of incase of redundancy and stuff.
Best quote I've got is way over two grand! not including transfers"I know that Prince Charming doesn’t come save me, we save each other and fight back to back against all comers that’s what marriage is to me. Nothing passive, no being carried off on a white steed, give me my own damn horse and lets ride into the sunset side by side." - Laurell K. Hamilton.0 -
We took advantage of the "kids stay and play free" deal and booked directly with Disney themselves.
We are staying at the Santa Fe - half board (but Dinner and lunch can be eaten in a variety of restaurants).
We are driving over on the Eurotunnel and an overnight stay at a Travelodge the evening before we come to paris was £900!! Thats for two adults and two kids. (If your taking three kids - then you would be roughly the same price cos they are free anyway!)
Thats 5 days in the Park, 4 nights in a Disney Hotel, half board, Eurotunnel and a travelodge for that price, but doesnt include Fuel.
But even still, if you and your sister drive - you can share the driving between you and appranently its very easy to get there. Parking at the Disney Santa Fe is free, so we didnt need to pay extra for that!
We paid extra to have a lunch with the Disney Characters as it my little ones birthday and that is included in the £900.
Hope this helps xxSometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying

Hi
We have been 4 times and it is def worth having breakfast in your package. The buffet choice is excellent and more than enough to make up a packed lunch. We are going in May this year and have opted for the half board because it is in the form of vouchers and we will be able to eat at a time that suits us. Last year DS would not go in any restaurants (has ASD and they were to noisy) so we ended up getting fast food. It was ok and fairly priced but no variety. To eat in the hotel (Newport Bay) would have cost us £35 each (rip-off). The half board works out at about £16. We always go in the restaurant that is closest to the Buzz Lightyear ride (cant remember name). I would advise anyone to reserve their table when they arrive especially at school holiday times.
I will try to think of some other tips and post them. We have learned quite alot over the years!;)

We came back from our disneyland holiday about 4 weeks ago. We stayed at the Cheyenne
EVERYBODY makes up lunch from breakfast, no matter what hotel you stay in!
At breakfast there's a choice of crusty rolls, butter pats, jams, choc spread, cereals, croissants, pain au chocolat, hams, cheeses, yoghurts, fruit... oh and not forgetting the goooooooorgeous hot chocolate and fresh fruit juices on tap
Your best bet is when you're in the breakfast area, fill a tray with enough rolls, hams, cheese etc for everyone for lunch, then grab a wad of serviettes to wrap them in once you've made them
We made all ours at the table, as did most other people, while we were eating breakfast. I will say though, that you're not *supposed* to do this, so be as discrete as you can. I don't think for one minute that any of the staff would say anything to anyone about it, but i just didn't feel 'right' doing it blatantly. Most other people have a swift look around and then slide it into their bag when no-one's looking.
Oh, and you'll see signs before you go into the parks, saying "no picnicing allowed inside the parks"... but everyone does it. We just ate ours between rides, while we were walking around
And the people who search your bags on the way in ARE NOT looking for sneaky rollsas i thought they were a couple of years ago
LOL... they're just interested in the safety-aspect stuff
Have a lovely time!!! We looooooove it there!0 -

Hi Beki
Sorry to cause confusion! The restaurant we normally use is on the way to the Buzz ride. I just looked at the Disney site and it is called Plaza Gardens Restaurant. We like the wide variety of food they offer and the nice desserts. I think the set price includes 2 courses and a soft drink and because it is buffet style you can get as much as you like. I know it was a bit naughty but when we take our DS in we tell them he has his own food and I put extra on my plate for him. I am not mean but he eats very little and only likes pasta and chicken! It would have cost 13 euros I think so it really would have been a waste of money;):hello:Lukiesgirl

We got our deal Just for two of us from Disneyland website directly.
3 days 2 Nights thursday-saturday including park tickets and breakfast/hotel .
And two first class and meal Eurostar tickets which booked on Eurostar website.
Came to about £789 or somthing like that. Thats just for two of us though.
How much spending money do you think we should take? I thought about £500? Or is this too much? Bearing in mind I do love a bit of disney lol.
EDIT: I'm not looking to skimp on everything, I dont think you can go to places like that with a budget and have to worry that you only have £40 left or something. Not being a snob at all, just my opinion. However where it is possible like Lunch to save money why not!
BEST PLACES TO EAT?:j This year is my year 2009 :j0
