ARGOS Won't honour Stars Wars DVD Web price

ARGOS Won't honour Stars Wars DVD Web price.

Yesterday I reserved Stars Wars Trilogy DVD Box Set @ £14.99 to Widnes Store for store pick on the ARGOS web page.
Printed out the Web page and also got an email of the same from ARGOs.
They still have it at £14.99 on their web page,
but now out of stock.
Went to pick it up this morning, and the price has gone up, to £24.00 they won't let me have it at the reserved price.
Ring up ARGOS and they say it's up to the manager.

Their get out clause is "Please note that these items have not yet been paid for - the price you pay is the price in store on the day you collect."

Ring up Liverpool Trading Standards, nothing they can do, unless a lot of people complain.

Any idea what I can do about it.

If it's for one day then why the hell is the price still £14.99 on their website??

I really hope this is not true because I reserved mine yesterday to pick up today. I think I'll call the store in advance or maybe call Argos Head Office because that is not on. >:(

    hi there,

I had a similar incident with argos when the dect phone was £13. I reserved the items for store collection in Borhamwood.
Printed off details and my husband went to collect.
They said the price had gone up the very same day.
I called head office and complained as I had placed order int he morning and collected 3 hrs later. They told me it should ahve been honoured and put me through to the store and I spoke to the manager and complained. She tried to talk me out of it. I stood my ground - she honoured it and paid for the cost of my journey there and back home too.

    Stand yr ground.

  • I tried to pick my reserved copy up yesterday but the store closed at 5.30 despite the website stating it stayed open until 8pm. (I arrived at around 6.30pm)

Do you think I've got a case for arguing it out??

Also, just a quick hello. I've been browsing the forums for a while but this is my first post!!

If it's still showing £14.99 on the web, it's difficult for them to argue with that - just take a printout of the webpage to show them and insist they ring HO CS.

I just spoke to Argos cust. services and the woman called the store for me and apparently the stores have been told not to honour any prices. >:( She said she asked the manager if they would be willing to let me have it for £14.99 and he said no. >:(

They are changing the price now on the website so print the page off now!

What made me laugh was when she said it was a misprice and that nobody had managed to get a copy of it at £14.99! >:(

I am not through with this yet. I want my copy!
