I put in £55 today, and my rate dropped from 4.99% to 2.5, so now only paying them £3.78 a day in interest rather than £7.53. Just thought you might like to know that.
I have also had the reminder letter from the littlies CTF saying the year end is almost here, so i have just virtually emptied my savings account to put some in there, i can't wait for my first pay cheque.
Work has been very tiring. I did Monday, then today. We had OFSTED in today. I wasn't teaching, but spent the whole day getting things sorted on the computer. I'm in next on Friday. I can't even begin to imagine how i am going to juggle it properly when i am back teaching again, especially as Sam has become very clingy and spent all day at nursery crying. It just makes it all seem not worth it. I was less tired today though, so at least that is something.
Westfield unfortunately only pay back £37.50, but in the past i might not have remembered to claim it, so it is a small step.
Tax credits i will get on the phone to next week, and i'll make a decision on what to do with it once i get the dosh. It does make me wonder when the system allows you to struggle all year then pay you more money when your wages go up.
I think you are too honest to be an MP

That interst rate is certainly alot better for you.:j and well done on the overpayment.
Sorry to hear about Sam, :grouphug: heres a hug for the both of you. It is so hard leaving them especially when they are upset. Hopefully he will come round soon, when my little lad first started (ds2) he was terrible, now he is a fulltimer and he can't wait to go, its seems like a lifetime ago. What worked for us, i got my father to take him a couple of times and thats when he settled down never cried one bit, i think they just like to tug away on our heart strings.
I had some good news this week regarding ds2. He is being moved to class 1 from reception as he has advanced so well they cannot keep up with him:D. I am just so pleased he isn't going struggle like ds1. The laughable thing is 18 months ago he was very very shy, he would not join in or do anything and the teachers said that he was Special needs and wanted him staetmenting. I went in for 1 week and in that time i got my ds and 7 other children joining in. I was on a mission to prove some kids are just shy, I carried on until xmas with these kids and they went from saying nothing to never shutting up. How cool is that! That was definately a proud moment for me.:D
As for Westfield, 37.50 better in your pocket hun
.
Tax credits i know what you mean, I haven't claimed this for just over a year, but every year i did, although we were both salaried you could guarantee we owed them roughly a couple of hundred each time. Everytime i argued it, but they said miscalculation. If i do have to claim again i will defiantely say i earn slightly more so that does not happen again! Fingers crossed i won't have to.You can touch the dust but please don't write in it !

Just thought i would give a ittle update of our progress so far.
Overpayments made so far
13th March £250
30th March £350
17th April £188.37 I just had to round it up :rotfl:Mortgage total now stands at £54,400.
The plan is to now overpay again next week when i get paid, hopefully £200.
As for stopping smoking.....well i am on my 10th day of being a non smoker and suprisingly i feel fine. I get the odd craving and apparently i am not moody,:o so my dd says anyways lol, This is the opposite of what i should be But the tactic i have taken is this:- instead of taking 5 minutes to feed my craving i have been playing more with the littles chunks. It takes my mind off it and they get more mummy time, win win situation. I just hope i can stay this positive.
Spending well i haven't done bad at all, i now ask myself, do we really need that? The answer is usually NO you would like it.
We went to the garden centre at the weekend and OH lost his wallet. It had £50 in it, all his cards, driving license and his works pass. LUCKILY my faith in human nature has been restored. A very kind lady took it to the police station and handed it in!:T
Hope my fellow MFW's are well, take care peeps i have to make the tea xYou can touch the dust but please don't write in it !

YAY! Well done on the overpayments. Know what you mean about rounding up!0

We went to our local dumpsite this morning to clear the garden rubbish, went then to Tesco to get lunch and bought Guitar Hero, with drums for the WII. Now that was a tasty lunch lol. Its great fun but certainly not as easy as it looks on the telly. We have even had my 68 year old MIL rockin' on!
So we had quite a spend today but the kids are well and truly happy playing on the trampoline!:rotfl:says it all. We also bought a tent as the kids want to camp out in the house! As we are hoping to go camping this year it will ease the kids into it. Hopefully in a few weeks once the weather is better we will camp in the garden and see how they go.You can touch the dust but please don't write in it !

Well done on your overpayments and quitting the cigs. You are still a couple of hundred ahead of me. I have managed lots of small payments this month, but we are again scuppered because DH hit a pothole in his car snapping a suspension spring. £100 to get it towed home as the AA wouldn't as they said it was an accident not a breakdown, then it is in being fixed today. The guys at the garage wanted to replace a few bit like the brake cable that were trapped when it all collapsed. We could have said no, but it seems daft to ignore mechanics advice when it comes to your brakes when you have kids.
Anyway, we will wait and see what the bill is tonight and then i'll see what else i can squeeze out.
Let's see if we can have a month without a car bill. So far it hasn't been my year with them.0 -
Hey hun how are you? Have you got your own MFW thread? Point me in the right direction if you have please.
Well i know what you mean about the car and it is definately a wise choice to listen to the mechanics. I hope it doesn't come in too much for you.
I would have been at work now but my boiler has packed in. The boiler guy is coming round any time now to take a look so fingers crossed whatever it is, it won't be too expensive, luckily i know him and use him for all DIY, although he is a gas fitter by trade he is also a very good general handy man and cheap too double bonus!
I have been to the gym for 2 days now and oh lordy, i am soooooo unfit:o but i am so detemind to get fit again and stay off the ciggies!
Boiler guy been, What a muppet i feel! The gas had been turned off in the box!!! How this has happened, when i was hanging the washing out this morning, little chunk opened the gas meter box but i never saw him touch anything and just locked it back up I also never realised the on/off lever was in there, anyways it was and he touched it. £15 to feel like a jellyhead! You can touch the dust but please don't write in it !

Car was £440, plus we spent £100 getting it towed so more than expected. Child tax credit payment was made to us. No idea what they are playing it but from what i can see it was only £175 more than i was expecting which doesn't seem right to me when i was paid so much less than normal, but they haven't written to me yet so no idea what that is all about.
I've managed to overpay by a total of £366.79 this month, taking us to £54,658. Not bad. It means that so far this year we have reduced the capital by £1200.
I haven't started my own thread. I was going to but i don't think i would have time for it. I'm working so hard now i'm back at work, and Sam is teething badly at the moment too. I'm so tired i fell asleep on the settee yesterday which i never do. Saying that, it wouldn't matter if i didn't update it that often I suppose.
Your little story about the boiler made me laugh. At least it was only £15 and not something mega expensive. Kids little fingers get everywhere don't they.
