Moo, you really should not be allowed to make me laugh quite this much. :D I am not sure what it is about the concept of "wayward trouser vegetables", but read in juxtaposition with Lula's list of gardening delights and the spontaneous arrival of today's rather disappointing and shrivelled organic veggie box, it's just made me howl. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: [Have you noticed that when a group of these smileys come together, they are ill disciplined and cannot laugh in unison? Edited: they smarten up their act once posted, but in preview they'd never make it as a dance troupe.]

I reckon that the B&B library would be well served by an imposing librarian in 6 inch turquoise platforms. No need for library steps there, so a wise health & safety decision. ;) Shoe Gal - that makes two of us with challenging fittings for your outfitting department - my froggie paws are still hoping for some elegant shoes (and they aren't exactly dainty paws either - like Moo, I'm tall enough to trouble doorframes in the right shoes and with lively hair, so dem froggie paws is BIG).

Lula - sorry for the thread hijack - I will now return you to your normal programming. It's been a rather carp week here, as redundancy is now imminent, and there is much nastiness emerging from the workplace. However, I have to say that you have all been so much better than a tonic here; I've laughed my socks off and feel so much better for it. Can we bottle this as Quest-Power?

Hollyberry - no apologies necessary ; my casa /thread su casa/thread or whatever it is

sorry to hear the redundancy is imminent ... its very hard to stay motivated so feel free to offload here . I quite agree about those smilies ... there would have been no place for them in Hot Gossip or Pans People

On the subject of wedding vegetables, I received an absolute delight today via email from a friend, it's a delight & had me in fits of giggles. It would fit in very nicely along with the transvestite theme... if anyone want to see it do pm me an email address ;) .

All ok here today, had a nice chat with counsellor & now starting to feel a bit of a fraud :o I have another 2 sessions & it's probably a good thing that the final one will be after the family 'do'.

I've managed to convince my lovely friend to help me out with the prawn deliveries again tomorrow so by thursday I should have completed all the areas which will make me feel better about quitting rather than leaving half way throught the routes.

It's really not doing me any good - my hip is now hurting & even a bath & yoga didnt help tonight.

Spoke to the local librarymanager & she recommends either an MA in something that I cant remember now :o or volunteering in school or local library as a way to gain experience - I asked if I could volunteer there & she said to pop in during the week to arrange it & I could spend a day there getting to find out what it's really like :D . She did say it's a bit like retail which made me gulp but then she explained that you're dealing with people & on your feet all day  . I sneaked a look at her feet & was pleased to see that she was wearing fab heels :rotfl:

Still havent dealt with any forms, bills or the paper tower on the dining table  & now going to bed to read.

    G'nite

I have delivered my final prawn :j

I am slightly concerned about the financial implications of my decision but there's just no point in being half crippled with pain ( or conscience) in order to clear the credit cards... I'm ruminating over the idea of having another go at getting PPI back & appealing to Mr Barstycard's better nature  & asking him to lower interest rate seeing as they're now offering an 'initial' one at a lower rate than mine  . They've also asked me to join their feedback panel . . . I couldnt type my name quick enough :rotfl:

Mr Repo Man has just called & informed me that he cant 'settle up' until after the week end as he's away, again  which leaves me a bit short as had to pay friend a few squid for helping out & I did a bit of a naughty shop at tatco this morning :o but then DD1 is coming round tonight to visit & use internet / fridge facilities so will have to use the repaid emergency money to fill car which is now running on the memory of fuel rather than the real thing

I only spent £ 25.53 on groceries so am within my £150 target still, with £8 & only 5 days to go :D .

I achieved my 15 /15 NSD target yesterday & have topped up all the funds bar the car one. I've decided to use the £2 coin savings for a new tax disc & now have £62 :D so halfway there.

I've had details for the other leaflet job through & it seems to be about half the hours required & the pay is better... but due to all these aches & pains that have appeared & school hols starting next friday I'm not rushing into anything. I cant wait to rip the carpet up in the living room & start sanding those floorboards down - turns out my mate who helped with prawn deliveries also has a sanding belt :D. I've also got to complete the library application form but have now realised that it's only 6 hours a week & about 20 miles away but still worth applying for just for the fun of it.

I really need to keep cutting costs & the groceries & household expenditure is next on the list. Had to buy some limescale remover ( in this house lemons are for Gin & Tonic not rubbing round the taps :p ) & the eco one I get was nearly £4  I did buy some Tatco non bio washing powder this time just to try it & it was lots cheaper than branded stuff or even bio branded. Cant let all my principles slide just because of debts  .

I suppose that I ought to start implementing some of the recipes in the frugal cookbook I bought ... right now it's gathering dust alongside Delia :o

I now have a drawer full of home trinkets & fripperies that I collect on each Tatco visit ( should there be a power cut we will be very well lit & fragranced  ) I've even picked up a few very bargainous items for next winter festivities.

I now have to attempt to tackel the paper mountain - It will be done by tonight, it will, it will, it will :D

    bye for now

  • Hiya Lula, why don't you try vinegar instead of lemons?

    Numpty -

you're not supposed to actually remember my tasks & check whether I've done them  but anyway, I have actually now sorted it into 3 piles : 1 for recycling, 1 for filing & 1 for stuff that needs to be dealt with really quite quickly, like job applications, making an appointment for the immersion heater to be modified so that it no longer has the capability of blowing up  , bills & council tax forms etc :o Actually there are 4 piles ; another one for stuff that will be reycled but I keep the stuff there for a while in case I do actually decide to become an avon lady, leaflet distributor  or actually read the school newsletter ...

Sarah - thanks for the vinegar tip :A , is it wrong that I dont like the idea of my bathroom smelling like a bag of crisps :o & I only have balsamic in the cupboard which cost as much as the eco cleany stuff so will keep that for my tuna sarnies I think.

I dont buy clothes anymore, dont smoke & rarely drink ... please let me keep my eco cleaning products fetish, they look so nice all lined up in the cupboard with their pretty coloured caps & matching labels... :o - I think my under sink cupboard has become a substitute wardrobe :rotfl:

:hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: A Farewell to Prawns :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello:

Shoe Gal - what are you doing up at this hour? Thought it was only Moo and I that rose with the larks, or in my case the loud and vociferous blackbirds and thrushes... :D

Today is programmed for domestication (I am being trained in its arts as I post...). OH is off with the recycling, and I am having a rest before hauling the hoover up to the second floor. In other domestic news, Lula, if you have a Mr L near you, their non-bio washing power (Formil?) is ok and darned cheap.

Let us know how you get on with those floorboards. I am somewhere between painting mine white or sanding them, and it would be good to know how easy or not it is before my DIY fear really kicks in.
