Hi nicola

I have moved you question across to our utilities board where I'm sure you will get some helpful replies and advice for the readers there.

Which company?
With BG my payments are reviewed annually. I have been automatically paid back a credit balance at the end of a year when above a certain level(100 pounds I think)
If a small amount it is carried forward.0 -
I've always just phoned them up and asked for it with no problems.0

The reason is the estimated amounts.
The util company has every right to NOT refund you if your reads are estimates. You could be vastly under estimated on your bill, and thus refunding you may actually leaving you owing money.
If you provide some Customer own readings (or better still a meter reader reading) then you will be in a position to request a refund.
Most util companies have an online read submission service, or an automated phone number. It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0
