I sat with my children tonight on the settee watching those boys look after their parents and Freya was astounded that they knew how to cook and 'turn on the cooker' and they were so young...it is because they HAD to.

Bless Freya. The little boy early on who was a carer for his entire family who had sight problems (the sound was low so I don't know exactly what the reason was) touched me a lot, because Ryan really took an interest. He said 'I'm so lucky I don't have to do that aren't I', and I nearly cried.

Well one of the reasons charities stopped carpet bombing those countries with food is that they put all the farmers out of business. They then professed surprise that no one was growing enough food.

Of course now, we flood them with second hand clothing and put seamstresses out of work and so unable to pay for their family without handouts. Eventually the penny will drop that the problem can be generalised - free = job losses - but we may have destroyed everyone's livelihood in the meanwhile...

And i wonder how many of his supporters (apart from his very close wealthy ones) follow his orders because they beleive his way or because they are afraid of him and of being killed if they are against him?

Because Zimbabwe doesn't have massive oil reserves in the ground then the country is of no use to the UK or USA, otherwise i bet that Mugabe would have gone the way of Saddam.

So because 'we' (UK,USA and other rich countries) can't rape the valuable resourses from Zimbabwe, should we not do anything to help the common person who is starving, who's home is being bulldozed down cos it's a shanty town?
