Fiesta TDCI failed on emissions

Wifes Fiesta failed it's MOT on the emissions (which I knew it probably might anyways) and just thought i'd throw it out there for suggestions.
Firstly, the injector seals have been done (top off engine, all injectors out then replaced with new seals).
It isnt showing any fault codes.
So far i've put a fuel treatment in it and ran it for a tankful (before MOT). Next steps an engine flush then oil/filter change. followed by a double check that all connections are ok (MAF sensor, ERG etc). Air filters just done also.
Any other thoughts? I've a week on Monday to get it back for it's retest.

take it for a good long hard motorway drive in a gear or two lower than normal, then drive like a yob just before the test
also when i had an old gti i would put the expensive fuel in, which seemed to make a difference0 -
Yep, sorry, tried that too.
I'm looking to sell it so I'd rather get it fixed right than sell a problem to someone who might be buying a first car or a runaround for their wife and kids.
Just as an afterthought, it doesnt have the same acceleration as it used to. If it was petrol you'd swear it was running on 3 cylinders.0 -
undo the battery for an hour, works wonders lol0

I've read on forums before that they have to re-learn the mixture after doing anything with the injectors. It's definately running rich (fuel level's going down quicker) so that might actually be quite a sensible idea.
I'm hoping to attempt it Saturday so i'll do the engine flush, change filter/oil then disconnect battery for an hour or 2.0 -
what about the fuel filter? have you changed that?...work permit granted!0

None of the suggestions above are likely to make the slightest bit of difference to the exhaust emissions.
Check the lambda sensor, and anything else that can affect fuel and air mixtures. Which emissions did it fail on?0 -
Unsure of which emissions it failed on but the reading was about 4.5 when it should be under 3.
It's only been like this since the injectors were out so I'm assuming it's something I've tampered with or removed whilst doing this.
It's due an oil and filter change anyway so I thought i'd give the engine a flush whilst doing that.
Just as an afterthought, would a lambda sensor not show up a fault code?0 -
Engine flush is a waste of money. The failure of the sensor may produce and engine code - may.0

Hows the Turbo doing??
The timing belts ok isnt it?0 -
Its a smoke test on a diesel rather than an emissions test like a petrol. Are you getting clouds of smoke when accelerating hard? If so what colour?0
