Thinly slice potato and onions layer in the bottom of an oven proof dish add some garlic poor over some , veg or chicken stock ( made from a good stock cube) place lamp chops on top , dollop ( see i know all the terms lol ) red currant jelly on top , till cooked . and most of the stock is absorbed by the pots .

My favourite grate orange rind, chop rosemary leaves, tsp of dried marjoram and seasoning put in foodbag, add chops and shake.Grill and have with all the veg in a white sauce.I'm off to see if I have any chops in the freezer.

Have MIL coming for dinner later on. I get a half lamb occasionally from the parents of one of the youth orchestra families. It's beautiful lamb, but I struggle with what to do with the chops. IMHO chops are probably the most boring bit of the beast and most expensive, so don't really want to do what I usually do and make them into casserole!

Have bought stuff to do some mixed roast veg. Mum gave me some rosemary the other day. I have lamb gravy from the freezer.

Was wondering if it was possible to somehow roast the lamb chops in the oven in the same dish as the mixed roast veg. No liquid with it. Has anyone ever tried this sort of thing? I've done it with salmon, but that doesn't take that long to cook.

I find Lamb chops are one of the best bits.

It would work like that but the lamb chops give off a lot of fat and would drench the vegetables. I would cook them seperate and add them once the fat is released.

That is two lamb questions I have answered. I may have to go and get some for dinner now.

Never tried cooking chops like that but have to say that lamb chops are my favourites!

I always grill them on a really really hot grill (either proper overhead grill or on a griddle pan). I season them with all sorts of things- brush with harissa, marinate with garlic, green chilli, lemon, mint and parsley, Indian herbs and spices.

Lamb chops are my favourite thing. I love them still pink in the middle but all charred on the outside, and love to chew at the bones!

I always roast lamb chops. I would put the roast veg in a different pan, because quite a lot of fat comes out.

OK, so I'll roast the lamb chops separately. How long will they need? I like the idea of roasting rather than grilling as I'm not very good at watching things.! THey're nice fat cutlets.

They take less than an hour. Keep foil on them till the last 20 minutes.
