Accommodation in Amsterdam

Definitely try Priceline (https://www.priceline.co.uk). For Amsterdam I have picked up the 4* Marriott and Renaissance hotels for £50 per night. I have seen them "won" for less than this too.
The above post is a good tuition in how to use Priceline but come back with any questions if you haven't used it before.
The problem with Amsterdam is that hotel quality is incrediblr vairaible. Therefore, when you have found somewhere that you think is okay, make sure you check review sites (such as https://www.tripadvisor.com) for opinions of people that have stayed there.0 -

That's ok. Next time, let me know. There's a house near Anne Frank Museum for around the same price. The girls can have their own bedroom.

I visited Amsterdam twice last year - once in October and then again over New Year. I used Priceline both times and both times paid just under £60 per night inc all taxes. First time I got the Renaissance, second time the Marriott. Both 4* and both superb.tryingtosave wrote:We used Priceline.co.uk and "bid" for the room. We ended up in the 4 star Marriott for about £60 per night.
If you've never used Priceline, the secret is to tick as few boxes as possible at first - you can't simply bid £30 for a room, find they won't take it, bid £35, find they won't take it etc. You have to change an element of your booking (or wait three days!).
So if you want to stay centrally, but would be okay in the business district (for larger cities, not Amsterdam!), just start off with only the central area selected. Ditto 5 star / 4 star etc. Start off with your ideal, and add other things you'd accept, whilst edging up your price. We usually check out lastminute etc. and decide what we feel is a bargain (taking into account you don't find out the name of the hotel until after you've paid), and work up to that price. It doesn't always work I would add! The bigger the city, the better the chance.
This will all make more sense once you're on priceline working through the options.
The advice given above is spot on!This space has been intentionally left blank0
