I hereby slap you in the face for repeatedly calling at my house and insisting that we are cheaper off with your company, even though we use an independent switching service and found your company nowhere on the top 20 for our needs!!! :naughty::D
    spacey :)
  • Well that may be the case with my old company (British Gas) but unless you live in london, the sweb area or the seaboard area then i think you'll find my new company is pretty reasonable on price (EDF, London Energy). HeHe

In defense of door to door sales people,I used to be the man from the pru{prudential}.Many people over the years thanked me for the help and advice they got,or the better quotes than other companies, which they wouldnt have done if I hadnt have knocked, but your always going get people like talkshop who are going to be stubborn and set in their ways{why are they on a money saving site anyway,if they dont want to take up better offers?}.But their is no need to be so rude to people trying to offer a service. If you dont want them to call just put a sticker on your door.

I'm never rude to them because at the end of the day they're just earning a living like everyone else (well, almost everyone else).

It doesn't really bother me to be honest when people are rude, i'm the first person to get annoyed when someone knocks on my door. But like you say we're just earning a living, and i'd never appreciated how much money there was to be made doing this job. I'm only 21 but I earn far more than anyone of my mates i went to uni with and i dropped out after 2 years and they all graduated with good marks. I used to work with 4 guys at British gas who never took home less than £1000 a week each just for knocking a few doors and changing over a few peoples gas and electric, so like i said at the beging it doesn't really bother me when people are rude!!

if they are paying £1000 a week to people just for changing a few people's gas and electricity over then they are charging the rest of us far too much money in order to pay those salaries
    Wombling £457.41

Exactly, and that's why they want people to switch ;)

Interesting this Mike as these are the three areas that EDF is the "incumbent" supplier. So, basically, its "hit all of the other companies in areas where we arent the dominant force and stuff all of those in the areas where we have the biggest market share"

I knew I never trusted the French for a reason...
