CONFUSED ABOUT YOUR GAS AND ELECTRICITY BILL?
Is all the news coverage about gas price rises worrying you? Are you thinking about switching suppliers to save money, having never done it before, but don’t have a clue how to go about it? The BBC Consumer Unit is URGENTLY looking for a family to film with this week who want advice on how to switch energy supplier to take part in a short tv feature. If you think you might fit the bill, please contact Ashley on 0208 752 7972 as soon as possible.
Thanks. Speak soon!
PS from Martin. I'll be going in to help out. I know most MoneySavers will have already sorted this out - but if you know someone who hasn't and need help - please get in touch with them as soon as possible to see if they fancy it.

Is this the same feature that Watchdog said they will be showing next week?
They said they wanted people too."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Am with British Gas and never switched suppliers, however am seriously going to get my act together now.No Matter what you do there will be critics.0

i am with british gas for both gas and electricity
only today started to look for switching
not sure whether others are going to raise their prices soon also0 -
I've always been with British Gas, when we moved to our new house 6 years ago the gas supply was with the London Electricity Co. & we had a leak on the day we moved in & had so much hassle trying to get the LEC to take responsibility for it that we immediately changed straight back to British Gas - better the devil you know!0

But surely they aren't responsible? Transco look after leaks, no matter who the supplier is?0 -
I've just bought (4 months ago) my first house.
Haven't a clue who my gas or elec are with, haven't even had a bill yet.
You can sort mine if you like!

Every time I've gone to check best price v BG, it's come out as a few pounds. (Much less than the famous £150 average quoted by Uswitch.)
Usually that's with EDF companies and they're putting their prices up now too.
I think the usual comparisons are paying direct debit versus full cost cash payments. The first thing for folks to do is move to direct debit and THEN do a price comparison.0 -

True but the London Electricity Co. at the time said that the fault was just outside the house therefore wasn't their responsibility but Transco at the time said it was in the property & that the LEC should be responsible for fixing it as they were the ones providing the supply!0
