Hi
I'd say Alcudia is a brilliant place, we went 2 years ago to the Sea club, it was lovely and clean, beautiful pools, sandpit for the kids, well set out - good entertainment and about 10 min walk from beach. We are thinking about going back again this year!0 -
I went to Alcudia last year. I rate it poor.
Its touted as a family resort, but in all honesty its not very good for families. There is no true promenade behind the beach. So you spend too much time walking along very busy roads. Prices are higher than other resorts for food and drink..
I went to the Bellvue complex - which being the largest complex means it had good facilities for kids ( playgrounds, fun fair , go karts, open air theatre). But the mozzies are a problem- Alcudia is built on a swamp ( yes its true). The stinking canals look like open sewers.
Palma Nova is much better for families - especially in May ( i went in June). The beach is better and the roads are not so busy. There are lots of family friendly bars and restaurants ( even towards the torrenova headland that has the nightlife for singles there are lots of family pubs - and it wasn't rowdy in June , so even less so in May ).
I have also been to Santa Ponsa in Majorca and that was better than Alcudia.
You might also consider Benidorm - it is excellent and has something for everyone.0
